Townsville Fly Match - 2 April 2011

Hi All
Yesterday saw the fly shot in Townsville again for the first time since 2007. There were only a small field of shooters however the results were pretty good considering the time since it was last shot. It was obvious that the potential is there to shoot some good scores which has no doubt been helped with the focus on the grouping capabilities of the rifles as part of the 550yd BR that has been our shoot from this distance in the absence of the fly.
Well done to JR with the overall win with a 255.1 and Jeff Harrison did well for second with his new HG cartridge in it's first match with a score of 231.5 and I finished third on 201.3.
Shane Wales was a first time shooter who had a great time and is keen to come back on a regular basis in the future. Full results are in the results section.
Our next matches are on the Ironman weekend over easter with the following program.
Friday 22 April - Practice at fly, 550BR and 1000yd
Saturday 23 April - 500m Fly
Sunday 24 April - 550 yd BR
Monday 25 April - 1000yd BR
