What is the exact wording? does it state the 338Lap specifically or is it calibre, projectile weight and velocity.

Arrhh, thats a relief. My 338 Lap RD is a .001" shorter wildcat. It will be allowed right?

Great, my .338 Edge is still OK.
I had better not load it back to .338 Lapua velocities as that must be dangerous.

hi guys. about 12 months ago in the south east Q, there was word that the weapons branch where holding all permits for any 338's.or larger. reason was why do you need such a hi-volicity rifle, no rifle range is approved for them. one bloke had paid for rifle but was still waiting 6 months later for permit

A mate of mine picked up his 338 Lap last Friday. No drama for him. Just had to supply a letter from the land holder of a 50K Ha+ property. It is a crock of S#*t that the 338 Lap is treated different. Mind you this could be a sign of things to come and a tightening of access to all all hi powered cartridges. You would think the SSAA and the like would be all over this one like a rash.
