Hi All

Today was the second last 550yd match in Townsville. We had 8 shooters turn up with the normal weather for this time of year being ever increasing mirage and a relatively steady breeze that just could not make up its mind on which way it wanted to blow from with the typical result of the record period looking nothing like the sighter period. This made it possible to shoot some good groups but made the scoring pretty tough and was reflected in the scores with no one breaking 200.

Yet again the 6BR of Tony Z set the standard to chase with him shooting small group for the day of 0.969" and then finishing with a day agg of 1.729". He also won score agg on 198.

In HG JR won with 195 for score agg and a 2.881" group agg.

Full results are in the results section.

Some very nice groups there, gentlemen.
I was suffering in the drizzle at 300 yards to loose on a count back.
Congrats Tony and jeff.
Hey Tony when does that batch of bullets run out?
cheers.

Macca

The sad thing is he is not using the good bullets in it for 550   He is using all the left over "rejects" and keeping the good bullets for 1000yd. Next weekend should be interesting when we shoot our last 1000.

Gotta knock that 6mil over

Hi Albow, good luck with that mission. :D
I shot a 0.920 group at 300 yards and thought it was pretty good till I saw that at 550yards.
cheers,
Macca

Gooday Macca, there is about 60 of the near perfect 107s left so the days of great bullets is about to end and then it's back to mediocraty. There are a number of seconds there as well that i do use for foulers and testing etc. Had some issues over the recent 1K matches where groups were split, three and two, two one two, that sort of thing and always, well mostly, vertical. Nonetheless annoying when you get the wind drift right but the vertical kills the group. Went down to a mates place last weekend and did some load testing to see if and how or why this was occurring. Short story, needed more neck clearance where too close a tolerance had the pressure time curve inconsistent, hence the vertical. Running 3 thou clearance, 0.265" bullet loaded measurement on a 0.268" neck. Cut the vertical to a flatline. Today was just a confirmation and load test for next weeks last 1K where i need a small one to break the five inch six match barrier.

Hope you get good weather up there for that last shoot.I like to see records being broken.
I need two small ones to break the ten inch six match agg as I only have 4 targets at the moment and two were in the mid teens(lovely Canberra afternoon).Well there's always next year.
Congrats again to all you blokes in Townsville you have had a really good year. 8)

cheers
