Was wondering what are the rules and thoughts on these two.??
I would imagine the inside environment would be a much better place to shoot,no adverse weather conditions to deal with.!!
I have heard some say the ventilation on indoor ranges plays havoc at time,do they have flags out while indoor(yeah I know it sounds silly).
I just cant see how you can compare same targets shot in two totally different environments.!!
I heard thats why BR30 was so widely disputed.????
Obviously im talking mainly rimfire here.
Any thoughful discussion out there.?

Mate I have never shot a competition inside, although it does sound like a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Yep I am the same,never shot inside having said that I have shot under lights outside and strangley enough didnt get the results that I thought I would considering the conditions appear near perfect.....................................weird things these rimfires.

I shoot quite regularly at St Marys Indoor, and am still trying to work out the "wind" in there.

The wind chops and changes all the time, as it's bouncing off the walls, the roof and the backstop, people opening doors behind you, etc, and there aren't any flags.

These ranges are ventilated, not air conditioned. They suck air in from outside, pump it into the shooting hall behind you, and it blows downrange, and gets sucked out at the other end. All because of OH&S - can't have the punters breathing in all those bad fumes.

So you have air moving downrange at unknown speeds, which makes accurate shooting possible, but often tricky and inconsistent.

I have shot 200.17/200.18 in there, but never a perfect card.
