Commonwealth Games single trap

Post by Brad Y »

Good to see the aussies doing ok in the shooting.

Heres a question for anyone with more of an idea on trap shooting than me.

Why do they shoot the bottom barrel in the final? It was limited to one shot only not both barrels and from what I could see, everyone shot the bottom barrel- wouldnt the top one be closer to the line of sight and therefore more suited to the single shot?

At a guess id say say it negate the need to change chokes mid comp bottom barrel is always more open choke most would use 3/4 bottom barrel - full choke top barrel

What doidge said. It's to do with chokes. The spread of the shot makes the line of sight almost a non issue.
