An amazing night at SISC...

I am crying almost inconsolably, and laughing maniacally.
You see, I just shot a PQS (Personal Qualification Score) score of 593 at Cecil Park tonight. Witnessed by the Range Officers.
When I first started shooting prone target rifle, I did some research on what it would take to qualify for Commonwealth and/or Olympic Games. A PQS of 592 (Womens Prone) is enough to qualify for selection to the Commonwealth Games at least. Admittedly, this has to be done during competition, and tonight was just a practice. The NSWSARAI State coaches said to me when I started shooting prone that scoring a 580 would be challenging but doable, and scores in the 590's would be very hard to achieve, so I set my sights (pun completely intended ) on the 590, and in the back of my mind, the PQS of 592.
I didn't just reach 590, I smashed it!
There were a couple of 9's I should have scored 10's on, but I took the shots in haste, rather than back off and reattempt them.
The last three shots, I couldn't pull the trigger, as I knew a PQS was possible. The last shot, I lined it up, and distinctly went "bugger it!", and shot the 10!
Tonight, I feel like I've won the lottery. Laughing, crying, wondering what the future holds for me.
I really feel like I've taken a giant step forward in my life tonight. I wrote an article for Hunt and Shoot some time back titled "is shooting a drug of addiction?". Hell yes!
