Well, what a weekend of shooting!
I drove 12 hours from Sydney to Brisbane, and competed in my first RBA Nationals, and shot quite well in the end. A few weeks prior, I'd shot in my first ever RBA shoot (which was run by Wollahra Smallbore @ Malabar).
Here are a few photos I took during the event (well, the last day...).
There were a few _very_ custom guns on show during the event, the above being one of them. It's an Anschutz 54 action w/ Lilja barrel on a custom machined aluminium billet stock. The tolerance and machining was so fine, the action didn't need any glue bedding, it slides into the stock. A piece of tape around the action, and it would not fit!
A Feinwerkbau 2700 factory benchrest rifle, shot to an 8th(?) place.
An Anschutz 54 action MSR, shot to 7th place.
Another custom bench rifle. This rifle was built expressly for IRB, and thus the holes drilled into the machined aluminium stock, to get the rifle down to weight.
There were a myriad number of flags out there on the range this year. This photo was taken first thing in the morning, so all the flags were limp, or reading the slight movements of air. Later in the day, the tails were horizontal, and I was holding off at the 7 ring!
A crowded firing line. We had 54 competitors, spread over 3 details.
