First Fly Shoot in Townsville

As JR indicated in the post about his new rest, this weekend is the first fly shoot for Townsville.
The LG that I am building is still a work in progress so I will be taking the 223 out again to shoot for the postal comp that the site has up and running.
Just wondering who else is going to be there?
Obviously JR is to give that new rest a try. What about you BlackPete?

Hi Al,
mate in four years I've only missed 2>3 shoots (1000 & fly), I really love this type of shooting
even though it frustrates the hell out of me some times.
Hec has put a new edge on the extractor so I'm hoping that will solve my problems, at least in the short term. My new brass showed up yesterday so I'll need to get it batched, preped and fire formed before Saturday morning.
See you there mate.
Pete.

Hi Al, This is the weekend ,lets hope this high winds will rack off in time for Saturday ,9 am start, shoot time is early .. Get there before 8am if possibile so we can set up before the plinkers arrive ..I have hopes that you will not be alone in factory class so a win is not gauranteed this time ..The Fly is a lot tougher than the 600yd and it allows coachs if ya want i'll walk ya through the 1st match..JR..Jeff Rogers..........

JR
I don't believe I have won anything yet, just been the only one turning up
Anyhow I am just competing against myself at this stage, looking to improve on my scores and groups each outing.
I have been looking at the targets that I have shot so far in the 600 and transposed my results onto a fly target..... lets just say there is plenty of room for improvement and the difficulty factor has already registered
Any assistance / coaching that you are willing to offer will be accepted like a pat by Jed
Results!

Hi All ,Well Allan l picked a doosey of a day to shoot FLY for the 1st time .. Winds went away alright but boy did the mirage have a field day .. One of the toughest mirage matchs i have ever been in in ten years.. Today was the time to have a well tuned gun and just trust it, if you thought you would pick your way through ,it flat jumped up bit ya ..Bob L won L/G with a 175 ,he also got single high score at 47 ..L/G small group was raided a John Mc from Mackay at 2.42ins ..H/G was 241.1 with HS at 53.1 and small group at 1.74ins by JR.. The new factory set up was won by Alan N at 71 and small group of 5.85ins ,he was still shootin the 223 with the 55gn skippy wackers ,awesome i reckon....JR..Jeff Rogers..ps .. al sorry i could not walk you through the 1st shoot, we needed 3 details to make that happen..

Hi Dave , I think today was one of those champion or chump times ..Mirage this bad is no fun..It's more than likely that i won't be south for the FLY at all this year ..The costs are to great for just the FLY event, Cantberra because of haveing the 1000yd is the only possibile one ..So it's no SOTY for me ,not even Belmont SSAA..I'm going to shoot at least twice this year at the Brisbane 1000yd, basically because i really like the challenge of getting on top of the 10 shot 1K thing and i'd rather spend the money on a new barrel than fuel for travel ..I will admit to setting my sights on 720(240 x 3) match average in Fly at home range but .. Good luck with your year ,must be neat to be closer to the action..JR..Jeff Rogers...............
