New Rest Pics!
New Rest Pics!
Hi all , Just finished my new Heavy Gun rest, have to clean it up and polish it after a test run at the Fly this weekend if it works the way i want..Made entirely from scrap metal from the local military base, i buy through my friendly scrap dealer..Cost right on A$50 all up sans labour, i work for peanuts you see ..Weighs 35lbs..The concept was to get the controls further up towards the shooter and it had to be modular so i can transport it to out of town comps..I was lucky to get 2 linear actuators(AIR) in the scrap for the windage traverse, it rides on 16 roller bearings on hardened steel tracks with Torrington thrusts ..Gun tracks without the recoil influence just great ,i hope now it goes as good under shoot conditions, can't wait for saturday, might be able to shoot only my targets for a change..Anyhow here's apic..JR,,Jeff Rogers

reminders
Hi All,
Pete , no need to remind everyone i f..ked up,they already know ..
Dave ,try to put some stats together soon ..
Ken ,i don't believe it's possibile to have a joystick rest that is smooth and consistant all the time with a gun that weighs much more than about 15 lbs, mine is 68lbs ..This has been coinfirmed by people useing the Farley that have told me they can't shoot a 17 lb L/G without a hand on the control for each shot, this is no good to my way of shooting..
.Damien ,my old rest is not for sale ,i will fit the L/G top back on for the future
