New Heavy Gun

Guys,
My new heavy gun, or almost new. Same barrelled action, new alloy stock. All up weighs around 34lbs. Shoots a 135gr SMK at 3100 fps, and yes, it's still a 270 Win. Stock is 25mm plate alloy, powder coated, running on 19mm stainless rails, forend is 6.5" wide.
The barrel block is bolted to the top plate, the barrel will be glued into the barrel block, which is already o ring fitted.
This new stock should get rid of the flex issues I was having, and allow Tony Z and I to continue developing the alternate sighting method.
Jeff

There is two things missing Jeff. A 30 cal barrel and a drop port
.
Coming together very nicely and until seen in the flesh it is hard to appreciate just how well this gun behaves on the rests. It is also good to have another view point from some-one relatively new to the game as this all alloy stock concept is entirely Jeff's idea. From having only one HG competing in the last 12 months or so to having 5 purpose built is going to make it competitive for sure. So it looks like i picked the right time to cross over to LG.

I am guessing that this alternate sighting method involves the use of a peep sight and aiming mark out to 50 yards or so?

No. two scopes and an aim post at 50 yards. Jeff will revert back to this method with the new stock.

Guys,
Shot the beast on Saturday morning, looking at new loads. A couple show promise, one in particular as it prints a bit higher on the paper than the old standard, and measured .289.
The gun tracks really well and return to battery is very consistant, so will work towards shooting the next 550 with the new load.
