If you are going to Brisbane and shooting Target rifle or F/standard,remember you will need a 1-12 twist barrel and 3,000 feet per second to handle 1,000 yards with 155 grain projectiles.

Brisbane at 1,000 yards is the ultimate test, however remember it is only one range,a half decent score at 1,000 yards,if all the others are up with it will give a good aggregate. My advice is to go there and call it a learning exercise. Those that give it a try are streets ahead of those that stay at home.

Yeah I am shooting f Std, now with the Berger 155.5 My load is 46.1 of 08, was going to chrony the load on Saturday but the cloud's came over and that was it for that. I only have a 26" barrel but should still be supersonic at 1000.
Anyway as you say mate it is a learning curve, which is why I am going to shoot the lead up as well. What are you shooting Flash F or T/R???

Sweet will do are you shooting the lead up as well? I am so I get a feel for Belmont. In all the years I lived in Brisbane I never shot there, well to be honest I never had a rifle that was up to the task. I am actually looking at picking up another rifle with a 30 inch barrel and proper F class stock instead of a old TR rifle converted. Not to mention a much newer barrel. ;)

did the 700 yrd today.
negligible wind for the first string.
managed a 45.3.
second string went to shit.....
didnt look at the count.
ended with a 91.3 for the day.

i clearly have alot more to do....

800 next week.
should have my No4 central back by then.
i was using my central 303 sights.
the slight wind changes caught me out a few more times than i would have liked..
but....thats shootin

didnt get my sights back yet.
there was a bit of guess work done,to get on target.
the old 303 calibrated sights dont match up real well with 308.

anyhow, last weeks score was a pb for that distance with the new calendar.

yesterday was a bit blowy,i had 2 mins right wind with a left/right wind blowing, couldnt make its mind up.
everybody had trouble with it.[even nick williamson got a crap score, one of our "A" graders]

just makes thing fun ay
