Re: Leeton 300m Fly shoot
Well I can fit an 6-18 Bushnell if someone will lend me a set of 25mm ring/mounts to suit a Tikka 595 action
As the 10X scope is a 30mm scope.
Thanks TrevorT- will need to load some ammo them an make a crack at going- will call you after easter to organise.

G'Day Pat,
talking to PVM a while ago, if the mirage is running you'll be lucky to see 6mm holes at 500m and in his opinion a 6.5 is the minimum size bullet to do that at 500m, which is probably why most like 30cal's for fly shooting.
Even then you need good optics
cheerio Ned
PS you could always try F class as the targets are spotted so you dont need to see bullet holes.......just chase the marked last shot. Worth a thought anyway.

Re: Leeton 300m Fly shoot
6.5mm huh
Bummer SC probably wont have mine re-barreled by then-- hint hint hint
It would be cool it he could as I could use it as it's the scope that the 6-18 came off.
If my 30 BR is finished by then I could use that with some 155 grain HPBT's
So SC which will I be using at which Fly shoot??

It sounds very tempting, like a Chicken coup to a Fox.
Pending whether the bureaucrats at the firearms registry have dislodged their fingers from their bums. Leanne is waiting for her license. There is supposed to be a backlog with licensing and permits.
If all goes well we shall see you there.

Another great weekend of shooting at Leeton .. I still don't know how you blokes fit so much wind into such a small space but a good time was had by all none the less.
Congratulations to all the winners .. particularly to Peter Fraser who not only had a fun weekend shooting but walked away with a shiny new Vortex Crossfire 6.5-20x44 scope just for being there.
Special thanks to Shane Clancy & Chris Nocente for all there time and effort in arranging and running the shoot, and to all those who chipped in with target crew and cooking work.
A good weekend which the rest of you blokes should make the effort to turn up to .. its worth it.
cheers
Rinso

Re: Leeton 300m Fly shoot
I woke on Saturday morn to the trees bending side ways from the wind, and since I hadn't gotten the chance to sight the .22 in, I thought there is no hope today so I saved the fuel.
Congrates to the winners and good luck to the Vortex winner.
