tactical comp?

Post by aam »

Does anyone shoot tactical comp?
Or is this just a fancy word under the guise of ipsc.

Is it anything like what Zak Smith does? http://demigodllc.com/
Thanks in advance. Albert.

Hey mate,

Tactical Rifle is shot in Canberra, it's still early stages but it would be fantastic if it progressed to the level it's now at in the US.

Basically it's shooting at both know and unknown ranges at varies targets under time pressure. The courses of fire can be quite creative and are shot both individually and in teams. Really at this stage it's little more than a social shoot with some guys who have an interest in developing this type of comp. I have a huge respect for the Bench Rest but the type of shooting as outlined by Zack Smith appeal to me a lot more.

IPSC rifle is also still shot in Canberra, much closer ranges and predominately offhand. Most users run Rem 7615.

Shame nothing like finnsniper gets run over here.

Rath, I should be out shooting with you guys early next year when my new toy is finished, though I may be going overboard with a 500m max range.

Rath, i think your social shoot is way ahead of anyone else.
we don't have anything in s.a.
i love shooting f/class, but this tactical, looks like something i'd like to get into.

Mick, remind me what you are building, If I recall correctly it's a Cheytac based caliber? With a 408 or 475 you'll be praying for wind, it would be like cheating

I would love to check it out when it's done, I hope you have some places where you can really stretch it's legs?

Cheers,

Yeah....It is a .375 CT. I have a few places I can give it a good run.

And nobody needs to pray for wind at Majura. It usually turns up as soon as you start shooting.
