Come on Dave, stop holding us in suspense, how did the postal go?

Tony Z.
Well mate I dont have the results but can from memory give you the following ...

LG Group agg Les Fraser 4.6 inches
HG Group agg Dave Groves 8.75 inches
LG Score agg Mick Easton
HG score agg Jacko I Think
Smallest group LG Les Fraser 3.63inches
Smallest group HG Dave Groves 8 inches
(group agg's are approximate only full results will be published later)

Postal shoot ...
LG group agg Dave Purcell 5.8 inches
HG group agg Dave Groves 8.75 inches
LG score agg Dave Goodridge
HG Score agg ... I dont recall but either Dave Groves or Ian Davis I think

It was unfortunate that Les Fraser and Richard Wild did not shoot the postal (IBS rules) as they would have aided the cause, particularly Les Fraser who shot what I believe is a new Australian LG agg record

Weather usual Canberra cold windy and wet at the death. Wind was choppy and refused to settle in any one direction, long pauses of up to 8-9 minutes before a record shot being fired was not unusual after major shifts from the sighter conditions.
As for the day as usual a well run event the Canberra crew have done a great job of streamlining the running of the 1k matches which makes it a pleasure to attend and compete. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly whilst still being competitive all in all a great day.
Dave Goodridge continues to do some great work with the Postal shoot organisation and Vortex Optics are now on board as the major sponsor. They will also provide web space for a dedicated 1000yd BR website .. Thanks Antony.
Vortex will present prizes for the LG & HG 6 target agg score and group winners, to be eligible you must shoot at least 6 targets in the Vortex International IBS 1000yd Postal Matches. The targets to be shot during any 1000yd match (not practice) which the organisers have approved for participation and which are shot under IBS rules, proof of targets and equipment lists must be provided to the organisers along with a $5 per class entry fee (per match).
For more information contact either Dave Purcell (Rinso) or Dave Goodridge(dg) by pm on this site.

Well done to all the Daves. Seems that the extra competition of an international postal has everyone pulling their socks up. Great result there for Les. Didn't he enter or did he shoot spotted?
Good thing i am not shooting as the boys up here are going to have a tough time getting past those aggs in a couple of weeks time. Somehow i don't think the six match agg for Townsville is going to be anything worth looking at as the Mango winds are here early this year. The early part of this year was brilliant with both the wind and mirage very manageable, but in the last few weeks it has turned to crap and the mirage is back i have been told by the FClass guys.
