Re: 2009 Fly Shoots
I am pretty sure its the 1st & 2nd August but check with Shane Clancy or send festa a pm to be sure.
No you cant camp at the range as its on private property but the Caravan Park at Leeton is close by and not too bad.
I am amazed more AV members dont show up as at 300m with a factory class you can have a go, not be embrassed about competing with target rifles and have a good weekend. Any 22 will be fun in the 200 rimfire by the way, just dont have unrealistic expectations from it. Then again Chris as a 22 shooter you know what I mean by expectations with 22lr's and benchrest ... house bricks are available at the range you will need your own chair though
cheers

Rinso that's why I drive a ute and get shit fuel economy..........................I cart a large selection of bricks with me ,I hope the caravan park isn't like the ones we have here,If it's not to bad I will stay there.
Rinso what is the usual order of events....start time whats on which day etc as now that Ive got a decent vehicle again I will seriously consider coming down for the weekend.

Re: 2009 Fly Shoots
Chris,
Last I heard they were going to run the Centrefire 300 Fly Saturday I would expect a start time of around 830am with the 200 rimfire Fly being run Sunday with a similar start time.
The Centrefire shoot is divided into two classes being custom and factory.
The caravan park is ok I have stayed there as have other forum members with no complaints, that I know of anyway.
Its worth the trip mate its a well run shoot with a good field and mix of competitors, its always a very relaxed atmosphere as well which makes a change from the average comp shoot as you know.
cheers

Re: 2009 Fly Shoots
For those who are interested there are two caravan parks in Narrandera, the Narrandera Caravan Park and the Lake Talbot Caravan Park.
I have stayed at the first one twice now, the place is clean, quiet and I would definitely stay there again. In August I might try the Lake Talbot one just to check it out.
cheers

G'day Chris,
I would recommend the Hydro Majestic, it's very bourgeois and it's haunted.
It's a little exy though.

Its a little out of the way as well, being near Katoomba. You might have to get up early leaving the Hydro Majestic for an 8am start at Leeton.

Yeh mate, I thought that was a but funny too. You could stay there but you might have to travel a good few hours to the range. Might as well take the missus and forget the shoot! You still might get a shot away.

No. They also have a hydro-majestic in Leeton (not affiliated with the Katoomba resort).....Its a little out of the way as well, being near Katoomba. You might have to get up early leaving the Hydro Majestic for an 8am start at Leeton.
We stayed there last time and it's only about a 25-30 minute drive to the property where the range is situated. If you were up at 0600 you would be at the range by 0700.
Regards
Sean
