Like Big Kev once said, 'I'm excited'.
A new 12-42 Nightforce NXS scope to see those little 6mm holes and a new set of Redding Comp dies to remove the run-out. I am hoping to see a substantial improvement in performance, from the rifle and the operator.

Re: Federal Cup 500M fly & 1K BR 7-8/03/09 - Canberra
another enjoyable and challenging two days of majura conditions.
congratualtions to the mighty "jacko" and PVM and all the dirty dozen for their efforts in the fly on saturday in some ????? conditions.
great to see a record number of competitors and many new faces.
also big thanks for the organisers- big jim, dave groves, richard wild and mick -apologies if i have omitted anyone.
the 1000 on sunday saw another large field ( a record again ??) and was IMO the most smoothly run and efficient 1000yd event that i have attended.
once again, thanks to mick ( especially), hans, clem, anthony and anyone else who may have helped out or been involved.
congratulations to jacko, murray hicks, PVM and LVM for their efforts at 1000.
cheers

Re: Federal Cup 500M fly & 1K BR 7-8/03/09 - Canberra
it would be remiss of me if i did not make mention of the feeling of tranquility and 'karma" that existed in the butts during the 1000yd br match.
with roughly 26 of the 32 competitors, electing to shoot "blind", we were faced with the unusual situation ( that has not been seen since late 2004) where we had to try and find ways of passing the time away.
for the younger and more energetically inclined, mick had thoughtfully organised, sight seeing tours, rock climbing and exercise classes, while us oldies had the choice of meditation, group 'sing a longs', tai chi, the odd game of "i spy" and general chit chat etc.
the only sad part of the afternoon proceedings, was that despite extensive emergency care and CPR ,we were not able to revive the scopion that stung jacko.
given the same scenario for the may canberra 1000 shoot, it would not surprise, to see card tables, hammocks and the like finding their way into the butts.
so, if it is of interest, jot it into the diary or calender - last weekend of may- Canberra 1000yd BR.
hope to see you there
you don't know what you are missing
cheers
