10 Shots for Heavy Gun everything.............

While civil war was breaking out between Canberra and North Queensland , i was on the phone tonight yacking to a couple of shooters.
If we can put the dueling pistols down for a moment, i would like to ask those that shoot Fly, IK and those intending to shoot 600 IBS, should HG be a 10 shot match across the board? I ask this because it has been brought up in recent times like it did tonight. Personally i can only see a change like this saving some HGs embarrasment from getting a flogging in the SOTY from a LG. Mind you a LG SOTY score that beat a HG shooting twice the scoring shots would be enough for me to take up knitting.
Anyway, this is not a poll or a move to change any rules to any match, just wanted to see what others thought. Half the US sanctions shoot 10 shot 600 while the other half shoot 5 shot matches. It looks likely that it will eventually become 10 shot HG across the board, in which case it would be good to dicuss this now to get an idea of how much more stuff we can get Albow to do while writing up rules proposals for 600

hello tony how would the hg ten shot match be shot
would you have to have a detail just for hg ?
or would the time to fire be the same for lg and hg
i have shot at a few other shoots that have ended up in the dark for the last detail and have had to use car lights to complete the shooting
i do think that 10 shot hg is the way to go if it can be run within the time available on the day

as the nq boys know i dont shoot heavy gun (yet), but i do have intentions to shoot it in fly & 600yrd in the future. notice i have left out the 1000yrd, thats because i dont want the extra expence associated with loading twice the # of rounds as the lg's.

my personal opinion is that hg & lg should shoot the same # of rounds in all comps as i believe this would give a more accurate comparisen between the two classes, i know that by shooting 10 rounds as opposed to 5 increases the difficulty factor which may be intended to compensate for the heavy guns lessend recoil, but should we simply handycap everyone in a particular class because their equipment is seen to opperate more efficiantly, after all, hg's only compete with other hg's.
