hi all,
sara called me a week ago to say their krieger order had arrived and my 31" 12 twist 30 cal williamsport profile barrel was there. only problem was they had sent my barrel up last year (order double up) so if anyone wants one of these barrels contact sara, they told me it was $560.00 delivered to Townsville.

We have been using the Williamsport profile up our way for a little while now. The Pennsylvania Original 1000 yard club has some very specific rules on rifles and barrel profiles. 16.5 pound light gun class with a max barrel profile of 6 inch parallel at 1.25 inch OD tapering to 1 inch at the muzzle for a 30 inch length. It has become apparent over the last 30 years that this profile was also a major contributor to accuracy. As such i asked Paul Gale of SARA some time back to get me a couple in the profile, and since then he stocks the odd barrel or two on the shelf. The profile just happens to be equivalent in weight to a 1.25 inch parallel blank that has 6 flutes 22 inches long, one eighth inch deep and one quarter inch wide. Paul thinks us northern rednecks are a bit weird but these barrels just work for some reason. Harmonics i guess, and all the major barrel manufacturers know the profile so it must be pretty universal in the US.

Hey Blackfeet, i slaved over a hot lathe to fit that barrel for you earlier this week and i noticed that a certain person was not running in and fireforming up at the range today. Does this mean that some-one won't be at the 600 tomorrow?

Hi all,
Trev & Al, what Tony said guys, it relates to the profile.

Tony, many thanks for getting it done for me mate i really appreciate it, i got called into work Friday arvo and did not get a chance to load for the barrel run in today and Dave hasn't got my new cases yet, i'm think'in of loadin some 30-06 rounds and bringin out my metalic silhoette gun. this is the gun i had made on a mauser action just as they caned the shoots, may be a good chance to see if it shoots.
