Sportsmanship- new website-thankyou Michael Easton

Post by dg »

Mick
Thanks for the continuing time & work you are placing into the new canberra based 1000yd BR/ Fclass website.

And a special THANKYOU for being prepared to recognise and indicate both forms of 1000yd benchrest shooting, that have existed for a number of years.

ie. * IBS (blind shooting)

Marked target style.

Without doubt, a unique and unrivalled act of SPORTSMANSHIP on your behalf, and in the history of 1000yd benchrest in this country.

cheers

kjd,

I am sure Mick would be happy to add it in .. especially since you have a fair few of us Long Range BR and F Class shooters on AusVarmit.

Good job Mick site is looking good. You should get the rest of this years 1000yd data off Grovesy and get it on there.

I trust I will see you on Sept 22 & 23

cheers

Thanks for the compliments Dave. Always good to hear.
I think that considering the 2 styles of shooting are so different, it definitely warrants showing who has shot blind or marked. I think it also keeps both camps happy, which is always a bonus.

And kjd, not a problem. I was planning on doing a few things with the site when I get home tonight, so will link ausvarmint while I'm there.

Will definitely be adding more scores and stuff now that the general layout of the site is done. And yeah, will definitely be shooting both Sept 22 & 23. See you there.

Great to see both 'camps' being recognised, and also to see the no BS co-operation with the sites...

woob,

Reasonable people usually work it out pretty quick mate.

I know Mick he is a good bloke and is just providing a service for us dopey old coots who find all this to technical. A service which we all truly appreciate as well Mick.

Much the same a Keith does here .. provide a service so us monkeys can talk shit to each other.

cheers

At the end of the day, I'm not too worried about how other people shoot it, as long as everybody has a good time doing it. I just figure that if there are 2 different styles being used, an asterisk after somebodys name to indicate the fact isn't doing any harm at all, and ends up having more people satisfied in the end.

As for co-operation between websites, there should be more of it. With shooting getting the arse end of things everywhere else, I reckon the least we can do is stick together and promote informational shooting sites in general.

Exactly mate its stupid to think that any one website is the only shooting site on the net to do that is to just play with yourself!

Speaking of sporstsmanship. I had a phone call last Friday night from Marty L telling me of a little vertical problem he was having that day at the Brisvegas Queens. He was 6 points down on the leader, Cameron Mac, with two ranges, 900 and 1000, to go on Saturday morning. Anyway, he got some advise off one of the fellas there to use a bit of JB to clean up the bore which did indeed clear up his vertical woes. Marty ended up winning the Queens agg by 2 points. Cameron was second. Guess who gave him the guff on JB? None other than Cameron Mac.

But don't worry Cameron, i have his reamer in my hot little hand aswell as 100 cases to neck turn for his new barrel. I am sure we can come to some sort of arrangement. In my dictionary there is no word sportsmanship, but a heap meaning mercenary. $$$$$$$

Tony Z,

All reports I heard of the Brisbane Queens was that it was one of the most closely contested and hard fought shoots in a long time in FO which makes the win all that much nicer for Marty.

Either way its good to see so many folks having a good time in a close match .. hope the trend continues.

cheers

Thanks for the kind words Tony. We had a great shoot, alot of friendly sledging going on. Marty got a real surprise when he found out he had won the Queens at the last range...1000yds. Don't disturb his reamer as he may let me have a barrel chambered with it. I am sure his cases could be made a little un-uniform.

Rinso, you are right, the comp was really tight. It was also great to see Stuart E competing and not to forget 2 ladies, one being my wife. I believe the tight ten ring targets makes F Open so interesting.

Thanks, Cameron
