Kenny

At the moment I am .020" off the lands.

I think the shortness of the throat is exagerated by the short neck on the case. That and the fact the 175 is a rather short, blunt bullet when compared to others and the boat tail makes up around 17% of the projectiles length

Currently there is 37% of the projectile below the top of the case  making it look rather short....... and it is winter so there may be shrinkage :D :D :D

Nice job on the rifle and the shooting too....! I've got myself a couple of Omark actions and they are just waiting on funding to be turned into complete rifles.

You crazy fool ! :lol:I just got them !!! I got one from the SARA store and they had a couple left. Mine was a barreled (.308) action for $150 +$20 postage. The rest were complete rifles.
I bought it unseen on the basis that it "looks fine"..the barrel could be OK, it's tempting to send it to Shane for scope bases to be fitted and then chuck it in a stock and see if it's any good.
The other one was a reply from my Wanted ad on the Ozfclass forum.
3 months on I had given up on that avenue and out of the blue I got a reply from a bloke with a new, UNFIRED Omark action. So I had to buy it even though the other one was on its way. So now I have a double dilemma with choosing a chambering !

Well same get SC top make the .308 into a 30 BR under the sporter weight class limit and then you can play in all CF BR disciplines.
Sporter, LV HV etc

Dont know what caliber the other one is so cannot help there

Hi Sam

Give the 6x47 Lapua (6.5x47 Lapua necked down to 6mm) a try.

There are dies available for it off the shelf and 3,100fps is easilly obtainable with 107gn Sierra Match kings.

Just my 2c worth.

Cheers

Currently I'm thinking one in .223 and the other a good F Open cal, and set up for switch barrel. I read a piece on the .284 in the Gun of the Week at 6mmBr.com, the writer made it sound attractive...but they're all good aren't they !

sam,

For an omark action the 6 0r 6.5 x 47Lapua would be a very good option for an F Open rifle

cheers

Sam

I just re-read this thread after posting it for Mullet and saw your question about the adaptor

It was custom made by Tony Z when he did the smith work on the rifle. If you are chasing any information on it then probably best speaking with TZ.

Also did you see the post of the roller extractor that he fitted to my rifle too? Definitely look at getting this fitted to your Omarks as they definitely help with extraction.
