Hi All
Below are the dates for the Townsville LR calendar in 2012. We shoot the 550yd BR matches on Saturday mornings and the 1000yd matches on the Sunday afternoons. Al why 550 yd . when you could do a 600 br postal with the yanks as well . what target face are you using as i would like to get hold of some 600 br targets and some more 1000 br as well. i am going to try and get 6 & 10 happening in
Corryong Vic. cheers Paul D..
I suppose your 550 yd is 500m fly range.

Re: Townsville LR dates for 2012
Hi Paul
The target we have is the dimension of the old 600yd target which is 60% of the 1000yd target. We are just about out of them now and were getting them printed here is Aus so we have just been discussing if we keep the current size or go to the new 40% target that the US have been using for a while.
The reason that we shoot 550yd is our range is the TMRC range and it has its firing points in meters. We did used to shoot off portable benches at 600yd originally however after a couple of years they asked us to go to the designated firing mounds after the refurb they did.
If you would like to get some targets let me know or send me your contact details and I can give you a call.

G'day John
Yes should be a good year and plenty of value in your trips to Townsville in that you will get two shoots for the price of one
We will be shooting at least one fly match as a practice before the Ironman and probably one later in the year though not sure which ones. I will speak with Jeff H and find out what he is doing with the 500m stuff.
As far as action man there has been no contact available probably due to christmas so will try and contact again this week.

Guys,
I would probably suggest March, May and July for the Fly shoots, might even get some reasonable weather if we are lucky.

Re: Townsville LR dates for 2012
Hi,
Great to see the schedule for the year....
For the fly shooters, I notice that the 5th May Fly shoot conflicts with the Little River Fly in Melbourne..
Probably does not matter at all as they are different parts of the country.... but then some like John like to get around everywhere....
For those that are interested, I have posted a spreadsheet of all the Fly matches for 2012 that I know about on the forum at www.500mflyshooter.com.au
Cheers
Anthony
