Re: Marlin 17HMR
Most of the ammo brands I've used have been pretty good, except Remingturd, my CZ Varmint hated it with a passion so I've never bought it again.

Re: Marlin 17HMR
Sounds like a good fit with your calibre line up, just need something around .30 cal for the big stuff and your set.

Re: Marlins quality?
OK, mine is made in Nth Haven, so good stuff BUT, the butt fit is pretty darn good but the forearm woodwork is pretty crappy, only real gripe with the rifle is how the ation screw come loose all the time and actually lost one out on a hunt once and put a self tapper in its place to see me through, 4...

Re: .22 shooting target
Made a steel target to shoot with my .22 didn't take much to make hope to hit it out to 200y plus in the future Hard to tell the scale but I assume the bunny is 1:1  200m shouldn't be a problem, provided you have enough scope adjustment. I surprised myself with my 22LR hitting a brake drum at...

Re: Slower twist 223.
While we are on the subject of twist rates, a few years ago I bought a .223 CZ Varmint barrel 1;9 twist and had it fitted to my 527. I was planning to do some long rang shooting or even F-class but moved from the farm into town before I could work out a load for it. My question is, what is the optim...
