I use a Remington SPS in .223 Maybe i got lucky but it has shot accuratley out of the box from the word go. that said the trigger weighed in at over 9lb but i had this adjusted down to just under 3lb by a gunsmith and since then it shoots like a dream. its fitted with a bushnell 3200 4-12x40 scope a...

Ogre have you tried contacting the scientific supply shops, i dont know the situation in melbourne but you can get that sort of equipment in adelaide from places that supply universitys, hospitals etc. Its usually fairly cheap but you would need to go in person and pay cash etc otherwise you need to...

G'Day Zzsstt A great question with some exelent replies so far when i first got the 17HMR i read somewhere that they should be treated more like a centrefire with regard to cleaning and so i was pretty consistent with cleaning the barrel after each trip. I began to get a bit concerned with damaging ...

G'day Ned I cant suggest a mounting method for your annie but my own thoughts are that this would make it an uncomfortable bitch to shoot as Maglites are not exactly light and it would pull the front down quite a bit. the lightforce spotties mounted over the scope at least preserve some of the balan...

thanks Kieth i checked with the local station and with firearms branch and due to the way the legislation was written in SA Class A applies to Air rifles, air guns and paint-ball firearms; .22 calibre rim-fire rifles (not being self-loading rifles); Single or double barrel shotguns (not being self-l...

17HMR Licence Class A or B?
I recently got a 17HMR in the CZ Varmint flavour but when the paperwork went in i was told it had to be registered as a class B firearm and so it was. There is no issues with this on my licence but i noticed in reading Keith's (aka kjd) review on the ausvarminters webpage that he mentions that it is...

Have to agree with you Archfile, having now had a good shoot with both i prefer the 17HMR hands down to the WMR. Side by side (CZ Varmint 17HMR and Marlin Stainless Synthetic 22WMR) both rifles are accurate but the 17 was much easier to shoot out at 100m. In the sandhills up this way this is as far ...
