Re: Diesel - Which do you use which do you refuse to?

Thanks for that mate, sounds like a hard life out there. Nothing to hard about it. The inconvenience of something's is well and truly offset by the fact I get paid to do stuff and be places most people will never get to see. :D I keep telling my kids, get a job you love because you will be spending...

Re: Diesel - Which do you use which do you refuse to?

Just wondering what fuel you guys are running in your new common rail turbo diesels these days? Is there a better/cleaner diesel or are they all the same? Cheers, Keith. Unfortunately I am not in the position to be choosy, I just get the filter replaced a lot and live with the fact the warning ligh...

Re: ogre6br

Pat was a top bloke, and I will always remember the trip him and trev did out here. He had a big heart and was devoted to his family. By extension AV was always considered part of his extended family and he would have been humbled by the comments made here. Trev is selling himself a bit short here, ...

Re: Choosing a seating depth to start L.D

With the catkiller I asked around a lot. On advice from trevort, Shane Clancy and others I started at 20 thou with the intention of tuning it from there once I got the charge right. By the time I settled on the load and realised I could get five shots into an 11mm group at 200m and seven shots into ...

Re: Seating Depth

3pot going into the lands is no problem as long as you work up to it for exactly the reason Ned says. The only drawback of going into the lands is unloading and having a pill in the barrel and a chamber full of powder. Its happened to me three times. Always have more than one rifle on a trip! Techn...

Re: Ruger No1 B 22-250, definately not tactical

Every time I see a ruger no 1 thread I get a serious case of the "I wants" followed by a dose of the sulks because "I can't" :D

Very nice, very jealous

Re: max box vs big iron

Your probably right raven and I have also probably done them a dis-service by slagging their product here without raising it with them in the first place. But I was pretty pissed when I read the crap about no warranties along with the shoddy build, so I guess fuckem really :D

Re: max box vs big iron

G'day Raven. I am aware of the whole refund thing here in Aust, I just couldn't be arsed chasing it. I also replaced the magnets with quality ones. This at least had them work. Regarding the original magnets they are inserted into a plastic plug that then sits in a hole in the foam. Most either fell...

Re: max box vs big iron

I have both, if you want my max box you could have had it (I binned it 2 weeks ago). It was crap. First off the magnets were not properly glued into the foam and kept pulling out No worries I will get a new one, but then you notice the fine print on the paperwork inside the box no refunds , wankers....

Re: what cleaning rods are you using?

Proshot and Dewey rods for me. I get all my rod guides made by Sinclairs. Only use pre cut patches except for the 45/70. Regarding the coating on the Dewey rods I keep it clean and in a plastic tube when not in use. So far I have only a couple of small dent in the plastic and no embedded shit. I hav...
