Re: Should I?

Well doc, I am young, stupid, just coming out of my time as an apprentice sparkey and don't have a woman to keep me poor at the moment :auto: It only eats about 55 to 60 grains of AR2208, AR2209 or AR2206H a shot, lapua brass is only $110 per hundred, although projectiles may be a little on the cost...

Re: Should I?

Well if i couldn't find one i was going to find an old BRNO ZKK in 30-06 or 270 and have it rebarrelled to 9.3*62 any way.

Hey doc... i wonder how well it works on camels....

Should I?

I just got off the phone to a gun shop in Victoria.... they have one CZ550 lux in 9.3*62 left... allegedly one of the last left in australia. I need a bigger gun than a 243 and I love the CZ's (Mod70's CZ550 is awesome) but i have not tried the hogs back stock like the lux has.... And I WANT a 9.3*6...

Have a look at the "dingo" brand leather ones, they are all aussie made.

Re: My new project, help please!!!

Have a look at the CZ527's for the 204 and 223 mate, they are nice rifles as long as you don't want stainless, and a synthetic stock on a CZ is just plain wrong.

Re: Another "What next"!!

Actually I am toying with the idea of a 17 HMR built on a martini cadet action.... Shane Clancy says he wont work on martinis at the moment though :(

Re: weatherby mark xxII, is it worth it?

The weatherby XXII is an Anschultz barrelled action any way.

Get the proper german rifle, not the bastardised one with the seppo stock on it :D

Either that or go for one of those lovely little CZ's.

Re: Favourite load for 87gn V Max in .243

I am running 41.5 grains of AR2209. I averaged the powder charges from three manuals and used that as my upper and lower limits, and loaded between 39 and 42 grains, but I can probably go higher, but as a novice reloader and all around cautious person I have not gone higher. I found 41.5 to be an ac...

Re: Favourite load for 87gn V Max in .243

I personally use Hornady 95 grain SST's in my 243 using AR2209, bowls bunnies to boars and I have it shooting accurately enough for a hunting rifle (sub 1 inch groups at 100m, with two or three on top of each other).

Re: Marlin 925 vs Mossberg 802 Plinkster - .22LR

Mate have a look around the gunshops and see what you like the look and feel of.

You might be able to pick up a nice second hand CZ/Brno for that $400!

I have to say, you will pick up the mossberg, then the marlin, then the CZ/Brno and then fall in love and think that the other two are rubbish :P
