I agree with morerams, iv'e got a howa .223 stainless, shoots sub moa after pillar bedding with 26.5 g 2208 and 50gn b/t's v/max's and blitzkings, the trigger is adjustable and the stock is crap, barrel fit to stock is a joke and the action is as slick as, better even than my winnie 670. (Groups are...

G'day pig007, I was surprised to see your thoughts on the .222 for roo shooting, when I was jackerooing in western Qld in the late sixties, there was a permanent roo shooter on the property, (1200 sq miles) who used a sako .222 and handloads and he was the best shot I have ever seen when it came to ...

Hi Gaven, When I had my winnington rechambered/ rebarrelled from .243 to .308, the smith gave me a minimum spec (tight) chamber, and even new win. brass (empty) wouldn't seat in the chamber without full length resizing first. If it's any consolation it turned out to be very accurate. If I forced the...

night vision scopes

Hi all, has anyone here had any actual experiences with night vision scopes, and knows the ins and outs of gen 1, gen 2 ,gen 2+ etc, as it's all a bit confusing to the un-initiated. I have a friend coming over from Germany that is very interested in buying one while he is here, and it's a big spend,...

Hi dg, Great post on 1000yds, I have been interested in having a go at it for some time, and after reading an article in "American Rifleman" mag. I think it was, the author bought a rem700 lam varm rifle in .308 and nightforce scope and was competative without even bedding the action. Hard...

Howa/ christensen arms varminter supreme

Hi all, I am considering buying a howa /christensen arms varminter supreme in .243 as a dual purpose hunting long range varminting rifle, as it is light weight and rigid. I know uncle nick panned them in sporting shooter recently, but he did say he would like to have one after it had been pillar bed...

correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the browning a-bolt have a chrome
chamber and bore in wssm? and not the winnie? if so perhaps thats why the winnie burns out barrels and the a-bolt don't.
Could be why browning chromed em!
just a thought.
have a good new year all!
