Spinna, why cut it?
Just do like Tony did with the pics he posted on AHN with the large frame, just make up a positive locking mechanism.
Will let you know how i go, am about to start on a project with a cadet myself.

2-4mm is a bloody lotGriMo wrote:2-4 mm?
Personally i would bin them and start from scratch. Never used the chambering but i cant see it being a good thing having them so short a sfare thing. the neck i cant see being longer then 10MM so in some cases they are 40% too short.

I say bin

Re: G'day shooters!
Welcome mate. I'm defiantly a Powerbeam man, have had a 9" Powerbeam spotty for many years (10 or more). It lived a fair amount of its time on an old Nissan with Lightforce handle, have now swapped over to a Powerbeam handle and the old light on my cruiser. As said the Lightforce handle just di...

Re: stirling model 14
I have two of them, though both of mine are the shorter "carbine" version, one is actually factory fullwood!! Both excellent shooters (they love pmc zappers) and one of my favourite 22's.

Re: Getting some dangerous ideas
I have a perfectly good Tikka T3 in the perfectly capable 243 Win but... rechambering to 6-284 shouldn't bee too hard would it now.... Shoot Con a PM, he has a heavy 6-284 barrel (Madco i think) he will sell, get it screwed on and have a play with it, if you get bored or its not what you want you c...

Re: Thinking 6mmXC?
Go for it Paz, I'd like to see a 6xc on here and hear about your case forming experience. Mate not to boast or anything, but i seem to have a pretty good run forming cases, i have taken aver 300 x 300rum cases from .308 out to .458 and only lost about 4 or 5 when forming for my AccRel (due to split...

Re: Thinking 6mmXC?
Wow paz you really are over thinking it!!!! Yeh i am huh, will see how the 6x47 feed in my action first, then will make my mind up between it and the XC. Good point on the sorting though, guess i will only need about 50 for target use and the rest can be field use closely watched to start with :win...

Re: Thinking 6mmXC?
Awwww gee fellas, now you got me thinking i am better off with the 6x47 :? ....... Now i know this is going to sound really stupid, but could you form cases for the 6x47 from a cheaper case, say maybe the 243win? Again reason is for paddock use, i do realize you would have to load these differently ...

Re: Thinking 6mmXC?
Problem with the 6-250 is i reckon it would have to stretch cases exactly the same as what the 22-250 does, something you and i both hate about the 250, wasn't your 22BRX a 22-250?Brad Y wrote:6-250 would be the go mate, trevs one looks like it goes alright.

Re: Thinking 6mmXC?
Why would you not want a 6x47 Lapua if you want to use that lapua brass Like i said, I'm not going to use the Lapua brass in the field, i will use the few hundred 22-250 cases i have here already and form them to the 6mmXC. Lapua brass would be for target duties only, would just make it easier to s...

Thinking 6mmXC?
Thinking of rebarreling my 22-250 into a 6mmXC, seems a good choice as i will get virtually an AI style case to battle the growing pains of the 22-250 and still use all my existing brass. Rifle will be a spotlighting/play bench gun. Barrel will most likely be an ex bench gun No7, taken back to 24&qu...
