Re: Removing Crimped Primers

Re: Removing Crimped Primers

The swager actually moves the brass back to where it was prior to crimping. It does not remove any metal at all.
If only Lowndsie would come back onto this thread, I could make and offer for him to borrow the swager.....but he's gooooone.

Re: Removing Crimped Primers

Lowndsie, I think you'll find this is what you want. I have a set and they work fine on any military brass or any brass whereby the primer has been crimped.

Re: vtr 22,250 loads

I'm having a great deal of success using 35 grains of Benchmark2, 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips and Winchester primers.
I have the Ackley version but that should still be okay with your rifle.

Mate i have an old steel locker bolted to the shed with a heavy duty padlock and hasp and staple. My local copper had a look and said it was good enough. You wont have any problems, but i would still invite them for a look anyway. It show you are a responsible gun owner You know why he said it was ...

Interesting prospect, registering an action (bare) with the bureaucracy, and especially when you eventually 'wildcat' it! Thy sometims do not undersdtand that an action is,in itself, just a few (admittedly precisioned) lumps of metal, about as dangerous as two chopsticks.(let's not go there!) As fo...

Happiness is a headshot at 300 metres. I just had point that out! After many seasons of fox shooting using a .222, I became so frustrated at not being able to deliver the goods at 250 - 300 metres. After much deliberation, I built my own custom .220 Wilson Arrows, they delivered the goods that I di...

macjeffrey, Okay, so you're not into reloading, no problems. You are asking for a 'long range fox rifle', don't beat about the bush, go and get yourself a .220 Swift and be done with it!! keep the brass and send it to me, I'll pay for postage. The heavier .224 bullets will buck the wind so much bett...

Cleetus,

Use black Textra on the base of the case and give it a good 'rubbing' in, the ink goes into the embossing and stays there for a very long time.

G'day Pete, Tell me a little more on Ken Waters book. I just chucked $50.00 bucks towards the McGrath Foundation and this book is $75.00 dollars. It would have to be a pretty good book for those dollars and I would like them listing some Australian Powders. I find it a pain in the arse to look at lo...

I've Googled 'Kent Waters' and can't find anything. Who is he?

Loads would be great.

Lindsay.
