Re: Sellier&bellot ammo
I too, purchased a box last November for my Howa 204R, as a trial, along with my reloads of 32gn V-Max's, I used the whole box over two days on rabbits. I did not test on paper for accuracy, but the S&B 32gns hit the rabbits where I aimed at whether front of chest and even a couple of head shots...

Re: Advice on ADI powder listing
Well thank you guys for the learned advice. I shall start at the MIN charge of 22.5gns and work up in increments of .5gns up to 25.0gns, and watch out for pressure signs. I should find an accurate load somewhere, have it labelled and then stick to it. As recommended, safety will be kept high at all ...

Advice on ADI powder listing
Need some advice guys from a newbie reloader. I was given a small canister of BM1 which I want to try out to reload for my 223R. I have some 200 rounds of Nosler 40gn BT's, once fired Federal cartridges that have had their primer pockets swaged and brass prepped. When I look at my 2010 ADI handloade...

Re: which Fenix torch?
I have the TK11 with 240 lumens R2 LED that uses two CR123A batteries and I am very happy with its lighting performance, andy size and tough construction. A turn of the bezel gives you either a spot light intensity or a softer light for general lighting use.

Any advice - RCBS or Hornady Press
Going to take the road to reloading my own ammo. Not being in the know, I was hoping for any advice on which press would be better RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Kit or Hornady Lock n Load Classic Kit. I hunt ferals with .270WSM & .308W and enjoy rabbit varminting with my .223R (40gn Nosler BT...

Federal Tactical Speer TNT HP???
I was thinking of getting a couple boxes of Federals new ammo using 130gn Speer TNT Hollow Points in .308W, for use on goats and pigs. Any hunters out there that can offer any suggestions for this type of bullet on medium sized game?

Re: Savage Laminated stock owners
Trev Thanks for the info as to how the receiver should be sitting up against the inside timber. I have taken it to St Marys indoor range last Tuesday and after two shots to sight in the rest of the groups with 17gn V-Max's stayed in the .5" mark, (except for 20gn Gamepoint)so I think I'll leave...

Re: Savage Laminated stock owners
Hi Trev I picked up my Savage 93 R17 BTVS, yesterday, and had a good look over the metal to stock fit and found everything to be perfect. The only fault I could find is that if you slide a sheet of note pad paper it will slightly stick between the stock and ejection port side of the receiver, for ab...

Re: What does the carbon mean??
Thanks for all the expert input guys, it seems that a couple of things could be the cause. I was just curious as to why? since the rabbits didn't notice any difference once hit. By the way my curiousity got the better of me, so I dug out all my empty .223R shells and divided them up into batches by ...

Re: What does the carbon mean??
Fenring, your reasoning sounds very logical. Ogre6br, these are factory rounds, as I do not reload. The Highland catridges are manufactured in Slovenia, so perhaps their factory machinery are not to the standard of Federal in the USA.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

What does the carbon mean??
I was putting away some empty .223R shells from a recent shoot and noticed that all the Highland AX 55gr shells had carbon around the necks, whereas the Federal PowerShok 55gr shells had clean necks. So, I am now intrigued as to what is the significance of this? Any ideas?
