Qtn - Rifle Scope adjustment (parallax)

Folks, I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15 x40 with parallax adjustment at the objective lens. I understand what this does. There is also an eye piece focus. When adjusting to different magnifications the scope can become out of focus. Should the eye piece focus be adjusted, or the parallax or both an...

Shotgun shell belt advise please

Howdy all, I am considering a shotgun shell belt - either leather or synthetic. I have never used or owned one before and relative cost is not an issue as both are well under $100. Could someone please fill me in on the relative merits of each? I am guessing that leather may not be so great in wet c...

Hi VIper, Yep its got a Harris bipod. Can't recall the model but it's got legs you can extend a bit at a time which is awesome for shooting of a sloping can bonnet. It is easy to attach and detach and makes it much easier to shoot accurately (for me). I took 4 foxes on a recent trip - 2 shooting acr...

I recently used a Bushnell yardage pro 450. I found that it did not work very well when ranging farm objects such as trees, fence posts, rocks - the type of stuff you'd find on a farm or in the bush. They quote its only good up to 200m for tree type objects. The stated max range of 950m is only for ...

Hi Muttang, I just bought a Tikka T3 s/s varmint in .223 and it shoots brilliantly - can fully recommend them. Re the lite, because it's lighter it won't be as stable to shoot and because of this perhaps slightly more difficult to shoot accurately. For this reason, and because I wasn't going to carr...

Shooting from vehicle window - help?

Hi All, I don't have access to a ute :( for spotlighting (usually foxes, Tikka .223) so we hang out the window of my brother's landcruiser. I'm interested in improving my accuracy so I am seeking your advice re a number of options such as a shooting rest (e.g. big iron), getting out and using the bo...

GIJ, you're right, their prices are the best in Perth. As fate would have it I've decided on a Tikka T3 223 in varmint stainless from Claremont Firearms. Thanks again for all your advice and suggestions.

.223 I would not do a light though - for those ranges a lightly heavier rifel helps in both sitting firmly and being able to see your shots - hence walk your bullets if you need to. My furthest rabbit was 450m on the second shot with Remmington 700VS and factory Remmington accutips 50gr bought seco...

Hi all, Thanks for the info. I am not into reloading or bedding, etc (yet), may get trigger lightened, will be using it from a vehicle at night spotlighting mostly, as I have a 12G and 22 mag for walking around/whistling during the day. May do a bit of rabbit sniping. Budget wise up to around $1500,...

Advice Please - long range fox gun

Hi, I'm wanting a rifle capable of hitting a fox/cat at 200-300m (I have a 22 magnum and 12G U/O at present). I shoot maybe 5-10 times a year on farmland. I would appreciate some advice re calibre (e.g. .223) and brand. I just want something accurate, trouble free and good value. Need to have widely...
