Re: Lyman Crusher II Pro Kit or RCBS Partner Kit

Got my Partner press kit 11 years ago, no worries about FLS .308 or 220 Swift. The press doesn't feel like it is springing hardly at all. The RCBS 5-0-5 scales are still going strong too, easy to adjust small increments like .1 of a grain (handy for small cases like .22 Hornet). Dies weren't include...

Re: how not to

Just to clarify - my earlier post was a bit brief, I don't believe that Sweets will ruin your barrel if you leave it in for a bit longer than the instructions state. I have done the same thing as Ned many times. I'm no BR shooter though. What I should have said was that you shouldn't leave it in the...

Re: how not to

It's a no no to LEAVE sweets in the bore...the instructions say no more than 15mins. You should flush it all out after you have got rid of the copper.

Re: lee collet die

trevort you're right we disagree  , most people just use them as they come out of the box and get good results, I didn't really have to do anything to mine but often can't resist tweaking improvements in where I can. 5-10 minutes with the mandrel in a drill and some wet + dry paper - piece of...

Re: lee collet die

bushing dies work with unturned brass too, you just need the right sized bushing. Yes trevort but with a collet die you already have the right size no matter what. No trial and error to get the right size bushing, or buying a couple of bushings to find the right neck tension. I have nothing against...

Re: lee collet die

I had a collet die for my 22 Hornet and they are very good. The crushing necks thing can happen when it is set up too hard against the shellholder. As the collet closes, it is also sliding down the neck a little bit. If the grip on the neck overcomes the sliding it will squash the case shorter with ...

Are they hammer forged ? Maybe it's cheaper to produce the triangle shape..and gives the marketing tossers something to get aroused about !
As mentioned already - why haven't the BR guys got onto this idea yet ?

Currently I'm thinking one in .223 and the other a good F Open cal, and set up for switch barrel. I read a piece on the .284 in the Gun of the Week at 6mmBr.com, the writer made it sound attractive...but they're all good aren't they !

You crazy fool ! :lol:I just got them !!! I got one from the SARA store and they had a couple left. Mine was a barreled (.308) action for $150 +$20 postage. The rest were complete rifles. I bought it unseen on the basis that it "looks fine"..the barrel could be OK, it's tempting to send it...

Nice job on the rifle and the shooting too....! I've got myself a couple of Omark actions and they are just waiting on funding to be turned into complete rifles.

He's only been at it for a few years so maybe the earlier production is not as good ? but good for Fullbore is not the same as good in Benchrest or Fly..I'll get to shoot some of mine soon and post results.
