Re: Taipan hollowpoints
I've made blue clouds and some odd shaped holes on the target, with 50 or 55gn (can't recall which) Vmax in a 1:10 22-250AI. Back of the target looked like airbrush dark grey around the bullet hole.

Re: Brass Quality
I got my first ever purchase of Lapua (.223 and .308) brass recently from HSS....after using Win and Rem in the past the Lapua seems to be a long way ahead in the quality stakes. Too nice to lose in the field though...

Re: Relaoding bench plans removable bench panels- in AU magzine?
Hi Ogre, I have the mounting holes drilled into our computer desk...3 coach bolts and 2 minutes with a shifter and the Partner press is solidly mounted and ready for work...The desk is homemade from formwork ply with the coating sanded off. I used to have a piece of steel drilled and tapped, with it...

Re: Subsonic power points
I used to use them too - Winchester Subsonic is what the pack says. Last pack I bought was in about 2003. They used to group really tight at 50m until I got my Brno barrel shortened....bad move ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: New Long Range Benchrest Web site?
aJR it's a great loss to any budding accuracy buffs. I've never seen the kind of techo stuff in the same depth you posted, anywhere else on the internet. Your post on the "1000yd light gun on a budget" is why I have an Omark action sitting in the safe. I haven't reported any results back b...

You just have to pick the good bits of Lee gear and pick another brand for the rest. Some of the Lee hand tools are good value for the beginner

Re: Hornet loads wanted
My break action single shot didn't like W296 much, but shoots OK with AR2205. Being a small case you need to work up in small steps, before the K conversion I used 11.0 grains of 2205 and a 40 grain Win HP projectile, or 10.5 grains and a 45gn Win HP. The cases are fragile, stretch easily due to the...

Re: Completed rifle project
Very nice result there prodj1000, some questions come to mind though. Why the seemingly excess bit of the picatinny/weaver rail hanging past the front of the action ? Are you tempted to get that bit trimmed off if you don't need to move the scope forward any further ? Not a big deal just something t...

Yep, thanks Dave.223. I like the look of it for the same reasons but it's hard to know for sure without seeing it in the real world !

Q for Dave.223 and anyone else using Rem 40XB stock pattern
G'day Dave.223, I've checked out your custom 6BR while looking for inspiration for my own custom rifle...it looks REALLY good ! anyway I'm interested in how you like the stock pattern/fit now that you have (hopefully) used it a bit ? does it suit shooting in various positions ie prone, spotlighting ...
