Re: Ken Melgaard and CopperHead Bullets.

The 1000yd match has just finished in Canberra. I was lucky enough to take out heavy gun group and score aggs. What with? My wife's 6Dasher LG with 103 Copperheads straight out of the box (apart from moly coating). The load is 32.5 AR2208 CCI BR-4 and seated .015" into the lands. Only shot one ...

Re: Best 50 Heavy Gun groups in OZ

Thanks JR. The list makes interestng reading. Obviously Townsville is the place to get the job done with Brisbane playing catch-up (8 entries from a relatively few years in operation). As those who shoot Canberra know only too well it's a damn hard range to get good results at. Been running this eve...

Re: Rail Gun Shoot

Actually, shooting a rail is more difficult than you might think. The rig has to treated with care as any knock may alter the point of aim and checking that after every shot defeats the purpose (ie getting a number of shots off quickly while a condition holds). Also as we cannot quickly make small a...

Re: Records SMASHED at the Bay

Forgot to mention the extent of the record smashing!

HG was 266.6 (Stuart Elliot) now 283.6 - up a whopping 17 points.

LG was 253.6 (me) now 274.4 - up a huge 21 points !!

My only consolation is that I still have the only sub one inch group - and thats not going to last forever either!!!!

Re: Nesika Cup 500m Fly

Great news! As of now our 500 metre target line has been completely re-built and has provision for up to 20 targets (up from the previous 15). Club members Tyson, Jason, Neville, Wayne, Darren, Nick and Ron are to be congratulated on their magnificent efforts. As a result our entry cap has increased...

Re: joystick front rest

Thanks for the referral Steve but we are no longer making rests. The Caldwell would be available thru any gunshop and is modestly priced as well as being adequate for most applications.

Re: Spotter, Coach

The only benchrest event that allows a spotter is the 'Fly'. There is no definition of what he or she may do to assist the shooter. Obviously finding the bullet hole and indicating fall of shot is the primary activity. No one would object if a tweak on the windage knob were offered after a sighter s...

Re: WHY are we so far behind the US?

Interesting comment from JR about twist rates etc when the conditions are tricky. I have just shot the ACT 1000 yd match in the worst conditions that any of us can recall. It was not far short of what would have forced cancelation of the match. High wind that was forever switching around and ranging...
