Re: Vertical Stringing Win Mod 70 22-250rem

Not enough information here Keith. Vertical can be caused by many things and yes bedding is certainly one of them but there are so many culprits that could be the cause. Is the load changed ie new batch of powder, primers or different cases? any of the these can mean you need to adjust your load to ...

Re: Jacko on the fly...............

Yes a top bloke who would literally give you the shirt off his back. Lots of good memories of Jacko .. funny stories and mad adventures ... from him turning up at Majura for the Federal Cup without his rifle bolt then driving all night to get it and be back for the match. To him having a rifle failu...

Re: School us on bullet tipping.

Trev & macca, Yeah a great boat macca 5 metres 90 Suzuki goes real well and easy to get in and out on your own. Trev mate would be great to catch up. Are you still punching above your weight or has Kerrie thrown you out ? I reckon I will scratch that itch one day but just now we are coming into ...

Re: School us on bullet tipping.

Hey Tony and Macca, I did a bit of pointing and yes had some success if you look solely at results of the shoots. To expand a bit I performed all the normal bullet sorting tasks basically the same as aJR's routine including using a Juenke. I then pointed some batches which were as near as I could ge...

Re: .300 win mag

When I enter the details into a ballistics calculator the 1-12 isn’t as stable as the 1-10 should be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think your trying to create a problem that isn’t there. 1 in 10 is faster that 1 in 12. Anything that needs 1 in 12 as the minimum to stabilise it will stabilis...

Re: 260 REM

Missed I ran a 260AI using 123 Lapuas and was able to set records in LRBR at 3150fps super accurate load at that speed. Regularly put 5 shots under 2 inchs at 500m and 5 shots at 4 - 5 inchs at 1k. I was able to push them faster but found that speed was best. I would expect better than advertised ve...

Re: 2017 Southern Cross 1000yd- Copperhead 600yd BR Championships

Well I'm using Jacko's and I don't think he is feeling any pressure[emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I don't think Jacko understands pressure Trevor. Cheers Not so mate ... Jacko has spent half his life trying to prove you can't actually have enough pressure. In fact half the field at a ...

Dave,
Great to see this off the ground finally. How many hours did we spend talking about how to get it started. Its a credit to you and the guys who have tried for so long to make it happen.
I see you sneaking in a pretty good result there as well .. the shark is circling again.

Re: What would you build IBS 600m BR - hypothetical

Weaver T36 or similar other brand Stay away from a fixed scope for long range shooting. If the mirage picks up you want to be able to dial down the mag to get a decent picture. Agree to a point. If mirage is a big concern go to 24x I am basing this on keeping costs down but maintaining a scope that...

Re: Is it really worth it ?

OK
20BR heavier bullet better ballistics high velocity
20PPC lighter bullet lesser ballistics high velocity

The BR will hold its velocity longer and hit harder
PPC may be more accurate at shorter ranges

Same story as the 6mm really

And again a critter is not going to notice the difference

Re: Is it really worth it ?

There is a lot more difference than you think. For what its worth I tend think PPC up to 300 max and BR beyond That said for hunting purposes both do the job and critters are not going to complain they were shot with one rather than the other. Want some confirmation here's something to ponder Short ...
