Guess it's a bit like cleaning..................why wear it out    Just wondering if those who have bought a new gun recently have a had a similar experience to this - A mate purchased a new Sako Varmint in .223, he thought he would give it a clean out before firing it...fair enough.....

I think it all comes down to personel preference.

After all sitting at the loading bench fiddling is half the fun, so doing what gives YOU the best results and peace of mind is the go 8)

Native, IMO if your gun is shooting that well and is just a varminter/hunting rifle save your $ and enjot it. :D You may not get better results anyway so why wear it out trying to prove it  Perhaps shooting a few 8 shot groups might show you something more about your chosen load, as we all pul...

Rinso, Optically there's nothing much between the Sightron and the loopy. And I like the Sightron better as my loopy 36x is the 'old model' not the new style with the side focus. I think it's about 1 ounce heavier but has a smaller dot. It's more user freindly than my loopy in regards to the focusin...

Flyer, Hmmmmm.......I think rimfires are 'just like that' You are at the mercy of wind conditions and a bullet pre manufactured to pretty much just go bang. Though there are some very good ones out there. Where you shooting over flags :?: I wouldn't have thought that a piddly .22rf would cause so mu...

Rinso,

Coolies, thanks for that, very interesting reading.

The internet is just great for learning things on and it's amazing how many people it has sparked an interest in.

Though sometimes I wonder if it's sent us all a bit 'stir crazy'

cheers
