Re: Lil Gun, it's a weird powder
Johno, is there any other method for contacting him other than phone, I went looking for an email but couldn't track one down? I'll be in Canada at the end of June so was thinking it'd be just as easy to get some sent to my friends there and bring them back with a B709. If I could be bothered with a...

Re: Lil Gun, it's a weird powder
Pretty much on the money there Mark, and it's not even an 'improved' case at that. I'm pretty happy with it all, considering it was brought as a junker and gunsmithing experiment to see if it could be resurrected. Sorting out the trigger is next on the list and then I'll call it pretty much done. Ch...

Lil Gun, it's a weird powder
I finally got around to bedding my Sportco Hornet and floating the barrel recently, and decided to try working up a load with some 30gr Calhoon HPs which I was given by Stinkitup. I've played around a bit with Lil Gun powder in this rifle with some mixed results, some of which I can probably attribu...

Re: Little resto project, aka polishing a turd
All over it for small pistol primers and a Lee crimp die already fellas, I'm using Rem 5 1/2s with this and Kel's K-Hornet. The 12.0gr load for Lil Gun was the starting load according to the Hogdon site, think I'll back it off to somewhere around 11.5-11.6gr instead and see what happens. Cheers Joel

Re: Little resto project, aka polishing a turd
It certainly is light, and the action on this thing is as smooth as butter also. Once I luck onto some good loads, it'll be a winner.

Re: Little resto project, aka polishing a turd
Thanks mate, I was also pretty impressed with your Sportco .22s and might look for one of those as another tidy up project.

Re: Little resto project, aka polishing a turd
Thanks for the offer Mark, I'll slow them down to the 2500-2600fps range and see how it behaves.

Little resto project, aka polishing a turd
I decided to pick up a little winter project a while back, something to work on in front of the fire, and wound up with this Sportco Hornet. I picked it up pretty cheap, knowing that it was in fairly ugly condition, with an obviously rough repair to a crack through the wrist of the stock as the main...

Re: Budget Large Wildcat Varminter
I was pretty impressed with your .358 the other weekend Ryan, the recoil is definitely manageable for the performance it gives and the accuracy is certainly there for whatever hairy critters it gets pointed at.

Re: .22 K-Hornet and LilGun... WOW
Magic powder for small cases alright, the Remington cases Im using have been fired about 3 times since being run short through a FLS die and are still extracting easy, suggesting lowish operating pressures. Pity its hard to find.
