Re: Torque Question

Research is wonderful - though surprised you didnt ask the person you paid to bed the rifle. What makes you think I didn't? Of course I asked him mate. I'm not a f*****g idiot. Hope that surprises you! There are lots of values circulating on the forums. Real world experience of the actual make of r...

Torque Question

Just got my Sako AI .222 back from the smiths. It's been pillar-bedded and cerakoted. Anyone out there who's pillar-bedded? If so, would you mind revealing how much torque you used for the action screws? Or do you just tighten them up against the pillars?

Thanks for the offer, mate. I have ordered the BT's from my LGS. They'll turn up soon

The .260Rem Again

Haven't been using my .260 very much lately but a 400m comp in Feb and a 500m in March at the club made me get it out. Had earlier developed a load with the Berger VLD Hunting 140gr over AR2209. This load shot sub 0.5MOA at 100m and at the extended ranges above I was on paper and even put a few in t...

Not much in the secondhand stakes on usedguns.
My .260 is a Sako so I guess they make them too 8)

Re: Got the .222 to the Range

Will work on it for a while. If I'm not happy I'll float it. If that doesn't do it then the time might be ripe to send it of to "the 20 cal man" 8) Eventually I'll try a lighter pill but to start with I need an accurate 50gr or greater as I do quite a lot of roo shooting for myself and the...

Got the .222 to the Range

Finally I got to start load testing for my newly acquired Sako AI .222. Been a bit of a wait for the dies from the States and other stuff on the property has been keeping me busy as well. Loaded up 7 charges, 3 of each, using Lapua brass, CCI400 primers, AR2207 and Speer 52gr HP's (flat based). Stan...

That's the one. Will give it a run as is for while but as I said before - it's gnawing away.

A Learning

Learned something the other day about my newly acquired Sako AI 222Rem. My usual method when walking around the paddocks with one of my Sako 85's is to have the loaded mag inserted, the bolt open and rifle slung over my right shoulder. On my first walk with the AI I followed this procedure as well an...
