Diana 36 reassembly

Hi all, I finally got a new piston seal for my Diana model 36 and about to reassemble. Shot lots of air rifles over the years, but this is the first time working on one. The new Seal is synthetic and impregnated with moly, supposed to be permenantly lubricated. This replaces a leather seal which I u...

Re: Marlin 1895cb

That's a fine looking set "blued "wood on that 39.
Anyone seen or played with the Chiappa la-322 (marlin 39a copy) 22 lever action?
Do like the look of the case hardened receiver one

Marlin 1895cb

My new varmint gun image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Had some pocket money left after good cattle prices this year, then blew 2 rear tyres on my old tractor in December- money gone. A mate turned up outa the blue between Christmas and new year and bought my old xr250, so I acted quickly before the fu...

Re: Hey Backlog

Re: Hey Backlog

No zipper yet, people kept telling me not to do it which just made me want one more, may still go this way but blew two rear tyres on my tractor in the last month which has put a hole in my toy fund Also been looking at a 1895cb in 45-70, 26" now. Just liked the idea of the zipper with cheaper ...

Re: Ssaa lever action

The anti gun lobby definitely would have heart failure if they witnessed the full firing line during the centre fire 5shot/10 second rapid fire target .

[*Wow bjcol, fancy meeting you here!] Damn spellcheck bumped my username to backlog & I didn't notice when registering.

Re: Subsonic loads for foxes

I shoot trail boss subsonic loads in a .30-30. Trajectory is like a bow and arrow, though I've got it quite accurate out to 100. You would have to use a range finder and a mil dot scope I reckon at those sort of distances for consistent hits. Trail boss velocity varies +/- 3 fps/ degree temp. My loa...

Re: What's your preferred brand of primers?

I use Federal match only. I've had failures with winchester (blowing pin holes and scoring bolt face- faulty manufacture). Federal are also known to be a "softer" primer, a few guy's I shoot with were having misfires with other brands in their lever actions, they did have after market ligh...

Re: Trailboss .308 loads

I realize this threads abit old, but I'm new so I'll add my 2c. Shot a lot of trail boss through my 3030, got some good accuracy out of it - you gotta be spot on with your powder weights, it doesn't throw consistently , weigh each charge. I was only running around 8gn (11gn max case capacity for 303...

Re: 4wd tyre pressure

[*I thought the golden rule was same pressure all round.]
On land rover defenders specification is front 28 psi rear 48psi- but landy's are weird. Even with skinny 7.50r16 tyre's the only time I've every had to air down is in the softest of sand.
