Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
hard to tell, without the gasket the average is up about 10fps but so is the ES and SD, 10fps is probably within the margin of error, temperature change etc.

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Just an update for those still playing along at home. I made a gasket using automotive gasket paper (.75mm thick) that fits under the breech seal to provide a tighter fit. I was confident that the customairseals breech seal is doing the job. To confirm this I connected a hand-vacuum pump to the end ...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
I wouldn't sweat over the 7gr Meisterkugeln pistol pellets TBH. 1gr off average weight in a little rifle won't hurt anything. As long as they fit snug. The fit is a bit loose actually, they will try to fall out of the breech. I'll plan to try some H&N FTTs or JSB Exacts when I can get a hold of...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Why didn't I think of that. I took the barrel off and used one of those Irwin quick clamps. Wow there is some force there! It's together now, and cocks fine. Thanks

Old Vs New https://i.imgur.com/97AQPsL.jpg you weren't kidding about the spring guide being tight, I managed to squeeze one end on though. That's some serious preload! https://i.imgur.com/Ijas4gk.jpg I can't get it together, no I don't have a spring compressor; I'm using the board on the gut method ...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Thanks Lewis, I made a trip in to see if the spring was there, sure enough it was! A big thank you for including the diagram and some o-rings to try for the breech. The spring is waaaay longer ~250 vs ~178, has the old one really set that much? The wire size, outside diameter and number of coils are...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Obviously I am a sucker for punishment, I ordered a new spring from Lewis just before Christmas but it is yet to arrive. I had some time this morning so I knocked this up: https://i.imgur.com/rhpSyPh.jpg Velocity wise there has been no change. I'm confident that this piston is sealing well so the br...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Thanks for the replies guys. Grmkc; no there's no real sentimental attachment. Have you had a play with the panther? looking for something, small light, easy to cock and quiet. LWR58; yes, but if you have a look at the pictures, the original seal is completely shagged. I'm using Abbey Gun Grease LT2...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Hi Guys, So the new breech seal didn't help, velocities got slower. When I put the seal in, I put a piece of 50lb fishing line under the seal to help raise it up a bit and get a tighter seal, the instructions suggested copper wire. Dunno if this was the right thing to do as I'm not sure how much the...

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
So my own photo helped me, it just looked like a bit of goo stuck to the breach but there WAS a seal there.
