Re: Cometa .20 pellets: suggested retailers?
It has arrived! The pellets most generously donated by Fenring are a firm fit, can't wait to test them over the chrony and at distance for accuracy. I'm loving the RX-2. It seems in great mechanical condition for a circa '98 model. Thanks again all for your advice. Once I can work it out I'll post so...

Re: Weihrauch globe front sight inserts
Thanks guys, I will enquire with chambers. I have the sights from a Diana 75, if all else fails I can fit them I guess. Lots of insert options.

Weihrauch globe front sight inserts
G'day guys,
Can anyone recommend a source for these, either domestic or international (that will ship to AU)?
I read somewhere that HW rifles ship with them, but neither my HW80 or R9 came with anything but the standard post.
Cheers.

Re: Cometa .20 pellets: suggested retailers?
Hi Steve Potters' are the JSB importers. I handed the agency to them when I departed. The best pellets in the RX/RX1 .20 were Beeman Kodiaks at 13.34 gns. Crosman Premier and the JSB were too fat for the bore. I noticed in the last batches of HW .20 barrels that they swallowed the JSB's easily and ...

Re: Cometa .20 pellets: suggested retailers?
Thanks guys, Appreciate the effort in providing such comprehensive advice. Looking at the cost per 500 and the bore size issue, looks like it's JSB for me. They were good in my R9 also, but I now use FTT due to running out of the JSBs. I believe from reading US sites that the rx2 would be around 20 ...

Cometa .20 pellets: suggested retailers?
G'day guys, I just purchased another rifle in .20... and am thinking I should stock up on pellets. Can anyone suggest a stockist of JSB pellets, which internet wisdom says will suit the new rifle well? I am aware of Potter Firearms but that is all. Buying in bulk would be good, as I know ACME does f...

Re: What does your Weihrauch weigh?
Steve, My 95 is in .177 & is self tuned with the piston running on synthetic bearings at 11.8 fpe. With such low internal friction it has a pretty week spring. I can literally cock the thing with one finger & it is as accurate a rifle as I could hope for. Matt :) I wouldn't bother with DIY ...

Re: What does your Weihrauch weigh?
My 95, heavily scoped & with extra weight weighs around 10.5 pounds from memory. What caliber is yours in Matt? Mine is in .20 and I must say that calibre really delivers. The HW80 is in .25 which I do love for many reasons (easy to handle pellets, really lays the smackdown) but I also have a ....

Re: What does your Weihrauch weigh?
It does make me wonder what the true heavyweights like the Webley Patriot would add up to with scope etc. That said, I think the HW80 breech block alone must weigh at least 500g. Well, guess I'll inadvertently be doing some resistance training this weekend. It takes work to maintain this dad-bod aft...

What does your Weihrauch weigh?
After spending a bit of time on the weekend with a hatsan striker I bought second hand for some cheap, open-sight toad dispatching, I really noticed how much my HW80 weighs when I grabbed it this week. Tonight I put it on the scales and it came in at 5.1kg or 11.24 pounds. So it's not just me, there...

Re: False hits with Gamo knockdown targets
I think I've come up with a fix, involving a spring and a washer. Per the picture, I added a washer to the main faceplate hinge to eliminate some play, and then added a spring to keep the mechanism from bouncing around. The spring was $3.30 from Bunnings. I've given it a good test with the .25 and i...

Re: Rats, Hw80, JSB.25
G'day guys, Bringing up an old thread, but I now own Dennis' HW80 and it was great to read about your experiences. I have fitted a v-mach kit and at the time was getting 700 fps with FTT. It's now shooting much smoother, more like my R9... Bought from Lewis. It's great to have dealt with so many gre...

False hits with Gamo knockdown targets
G'day guys, I'd noticed that when using my HW80 in .25 on my new Gamo squirrel target I just could not miss.. and as this seemed very much out of character I thought I'd investigate further. Head shots to mr Squirrel registered a knockdown on 3 of 3 shots. I can only assume that the rebounding of th...
