Re: Illuminated Reticle
I think a big objective, good quality glass and decent magnification are all better than an illuminated reticle. The Nightforce SHV 4-14x56 would fit the bill if you ask me. In fact I have one set aside for my 223 Gotta agree with Keith. That's why I put a Z5 swaro 5-25x52 on my .222 for spotlighti...

Choosing a seating depth to start L.D
Don't know about the best depth to start but after the weekends experiment I turned a 2" group 20 thou from the lands into sub inch by going out to 40 thou off. I did try closer but that was no improvement. That's just my experience with this rifle I'm definitely no expert. Check out the thread...

Re: Seating Depth
Thanks For the advice Ned.
I was going to stay well clear of the lands until I had more experience or some one with more experience looking over my shoulder.

Re: Gongs
Ok mods to come how high and wide do you recommend. I was trying for compact for transport. But if you can't use it it's no good.
Gongs
Found this lump of plate at work this morning by the end of my lunch hour I had this
The plates 6" across will it be big enough or should it be taller ( about 15" high) ?

Re: Seating Depth
Thanks for the info guys I'll try going 10 thou either way with my best load and see what happens. I hadn't thought of going further from the lands.
Was talking to mick 762 he reckons trying a different projectile so that might be next.

Seating Depth
I've always seated the projectile 20 thou of the lands ( it's how I was taught ) and I've always had good results. However I'm working on a load at the moment that I can't get inside an inch at 100. Would bringing the projectile out help make the difference. And if so do I use the most accurate load...

Re: Browning A-bolt
I've got one in the dreaded 223 wssm. Never had a problem with the rifle accuracy is minute of fox. Tried selling but no one wants it reckon I might take on the challenge and beat the calibre. Any way the rifle itself has been good the plastic stock is perfect for hanging out the window and knocking...
