Is there any reason you would suggest going the 6.5 mm (.264) 6.5x47L, 260 Rem, 6.5x55,6.5/284, 264 Win mag and 6.5/06 over a 308 other than for something different? Hey all, So I'm looking to purchase a new rifle for shooting pigs, deer. The 270 puts out some nice fps and has good ballistics but I'm not sure it has the projectile to put down a decent size pig especially caked with mud. The 308 has the bigger projectile but I'm not sure if the fps is fast enough...
