Yep they'd be my pick too, those things shoot bloody well and kill very well too and don't cost a small fortune either - excellent projectile.

Re: .223 load development

[im Sorry if I gave offense there Elitesniper. I didn't mean to imply that you were doing anything risky. Just wanted to know why. It's all good mate I went to the range last night for development, although it's a only a 50 yard range I was massively impressed with the load I achieved....I'll try an...

Re: .223 load development

I am curious why you are going for the hottest possible load. Is it for energy at kill range? I'm not going for the hottest possible load, like I said I'll start from min and work my up until I hit the sweet spot...and yes it is for energy at kill range....I already load for .308 using AR2208 and am...

Re: .223 load development

G'day Elitesniper, I worked up a load for my Dad's .223 with a 25" 1:14 twist Shilen, using 2206H and the 55 grain Vmax. I can remember attempting to use a starting load of 25.5g to work up to 26 in small increments, but found it was very difficult to fit in the case. With more time and care i...

Re: .223 load development

I am also working up .223 loads with 2206H, but with a variety of pills. I'd be very interested in your results and will also try to post mine when I can find time to get to the range. I am curious to hear whether or not if you use the 55s whether or not you can hear the powder moving when you shak...

Re: Primer pocket cleaning

If you go to bunnings and buy the dremel carbon wire attachment which costs around six bucks you can do 50 cases in under 3 min flat I no I do with my .308 cases and they come out sparkling clean, better than brand new brass....simply slide it in to any chord less power drill and your done......cheer...

LANDS & OGIVE

G'day fellas Had the day off today and decided to load some ammo,I decided to load to the lands of my rifle using 165 spitzer boat tails for .308...I started by cutting slits in the case using a dremel tool and seating the bullet slightly so it will chamber I my rifle,I closed the bolt and extracted...
