That's 100m off a bench, not a brilliant group by size (10ring is 50mm) but about a good as I can hold with a 4X and fine cross hair. Wouldn't hesitate to use on deer out to 200m!

Mounted the Pecar and shot this 10 shotter with fire forming loads of 160gn Hornady RN; five into a single ragged hole! :shock:

The scope is an old Bushnell 4x40, clear as! I have a spare 4x81 Pecar as a replacement!

Took delivery of my new deer stalker today; a little Ruger No.3 in 7x57Imp (28deg). At 6 1/2lbs with scope it should be good to carry in the foothills around here!

The sale of kits in Australia is virtually banned for private shooters. A dealer or gunsmith can bring them in but they must be submitted for inspection and testing by customs before they go to the buyer. Given all that hassle, just buy a nicely completed one off the shelf. If you want cheap, there ...
