Re: Racken Rest

Enquiring if anyone on here has used one of these fellows , pros & cons & particularly if they have experienced any change of poi with the strap holding down the barrel. Thanking you Barry I bought one a month or so ago. Have used it once and shot two foxes, not from the drivers seat though...

Re: Scope mounted light

I use a solarforce m8 mounted mounted to scope when the spotlight is off and always pretty happy with it. I am always looking for torches to add to the collection I might look into the Olight M3x javelot never heard of it until now. The solarforce is the best ive used so far though. Was using an M8...

Re: Scope mounted light

Straight out white, long throw and bright as phaaark= Olight Javelot M3X or the M2X. I use the M2 and my mate Gaz has the M3X. Both brilliant lights for mounting on a .204R. I run the Olight M2X-UT (long shots) with a Foxfire Houndlight (the green LED installed) piggy-backed on top. The green Houndl...

Re: best caliber for deer in Vic and pigs ?

Plus one on the 308W mate. I have only been lobbing lead at Sambar for a short while and it has worked well for me. Running 150gr Nosler BT's and knocked a couple over no problem.

Re: Thinking of going -0.02" for my walk around fox gun.

I am really thinking about a 204 ruger in a Howa for my walk around fox/spotlighting gun. For something different and to see if you blokes know what you are on about and it is as good as you's make out. Was thinking of running 32gr Vmax in as it won't be a long range gun by any stretch of the imagi...

Re: Foxpro

Took delivery of a Ico Tec 500 yesterday, loaded some more sounds on it busting my arse to get out and give it a go. Nice light compact unit sounds are not hard to load for a computer dill like me and some lessons from Sako Sam, I still struggle to post pics after many times being shown. Looking fo...

Re: Foxpro

FoxPro have some very keenly priced refurbished units on the website at the moment. http://www.gofoxpro.com/site/products/digital-calls/foxpro-factory-reconditioned.php I have the Firestorm and the refurbished one shown one is basically half price. It would come with warranty and 30 sounds of your c...

Re: Ruger 17hmr with leupy EFR scope

Looks like dodgy gunsmithing work. Yes, certainly. The first gun was my brand new Ruger 77/17 and the GS is a VERY experienced and reputable tradesman. He was mortified when alerted to the problem. He has since rectified the fault and apologised profusely. I'll get him to fix the Hawkeye Predator w...

Re: Ruger 17hmr with leupy EFR scope

And their safety. Their safety is great unless it does this http://youtu.be/f6Spao0b_Ac This is the rifle I bought a few weeks back. It's the second M77 that has come through my hands with this problem. It can be fixed but is one to look out for when buying used rifles. The first gun I saw with thi...

Re: Ruger 17hmr with leupy EFR scope

Nice rig mate. Some accuracy claims are overblown IMO. Regular .5 moa groups, etc. Yep, agree. It is a flat shooting accurate round that is capable of reaching out a bit in still conditions but inconsistency in HMR ammo amazes me at times. When punching paper while trying some 204 loads last week I...

Re: Ruger 17hmr with leupy EFR scope

Nice set up. I dont bother with any cheap scopes anymore not worth the hassle. I have found that money spent on a good scope and rings is more important than spending extra on rifle Yep, spend as much or more on scopes than the rifle they're going on and things should be spot on from the start. My ...
