Re: Scope choice
Got the scope sorted.I managed to pick up a Leupold efr 3-9x. Very clear, sharp image,as Harry said and the fine duplex has been excellent for daytime use. I had some reservations about being able to see the crosshair clearly under a low light I'm using for rats, and it does need some getting used to ...

Rick
I'll see how I go with the Sightron first up.Being fairly compact it might better suit my uses.
Waiting on a price locally at the moment.
Thanks, Ian

Re: Scope choice
Thanks all for your input. I have been using a 4x32 mini for a few years which has been very handy especially for close range rats.I find it to be fast on target, weighs next to nothing, and not too lacking for longer shots, but an upgrade is about due.Mind you I wouldn't part with it. Harry there is a...

Scope choice
G'day all, I'm looking to upgrade a scope shortly for spring piston use.First choice is a Weaver V16. I am also looking at the Leupold 3-9x33 EFR,which I believe is well suited to springer use. Can anyone give me some thoughts/feedback on these two scopes? The scope will be going on an R1,HW80 and o...

Re: Proven rat baits
Sorry for the late reply.I persisted with the sunflower seeds and rather than try my luck just after dark,I found the rats were at the bait from about 11pm onwards.Crafty little buggers. I managed to pick them off over two seperate nights and had to change the bait location to get one of them. The b...

Proven rat baits
We've had an ongoing rat problem for a while, actually the missus thinks it's a problem,I reckon it's bloody great, but anyway....... Generally the younger more bold rats get picked off first and the older, cunning rats get nailed eventually. The best baits I've used so far have been sunflower seeds as ...

Re: "Red mist" at 50 yards ........ GRAPHIC ...
Can't argue with that sort of accuracy and consistency.
Would you say the .22 had the edge over the .25 barrel?
Might have to call it the FX "mortein" after that first pic!

Re: New member
Chrispy Mine is a santa rosa R1 bought from Lewis who refurbed it and it's been a solid performer,no doubt about it. It shoots with a brisk"thud" and accuracy is excellent with JSB exact kings. The trajectory curve is far flatter than I expected from a 25cal springer and I've shot over rab...

G'day all Been reading posts in this section for a while and thought I'd better say hello. I kicked off with air rifles as a young bloke, like most, and have had a keen interest in them ever since. At the moment I have a R1 .25 courtesy of Lewis a few years ago, and recently picked up a HW97. Just put ...
