Re: New T3 Sporter
I have sold up everything mate... no more big fancy guns for me. Time to grow up! I bought a Tikka Stainless Lite on 30-06. It is better than I first thought it would be without even shooting it yet. If it shoots 0.75-1MOA I will be happy. Only going to run factory ammo. scope will be vortex PST 1-...

Re: New T3 Sporter
Mate Checked on out at my local range. They are not a bad looking bit of gear... BUT way over priced. What are they, $2850? You could buy a Tikka varmint, CDI bottom metal and a Manners stock and have something even better for around the same money! Everyone to their own.... On another note, I boug...

New T3 Sporter
Hello
anyone here tried/handled a new T3 Sporter ?
I like the laminated stock - its an upgrade from their old MASTER SPORTER isn't it ?
Pictures look like a full weight barrel.

Re: .17 remington
I agree about the tikka. problem is the wait..... we all have rifles sitting in our safes we dont use but dont want to sell. I troll the Australian websites looking for things i want but rarely do they come up at a decent price. Tikka - $600, barrel and fitting $600 = $1200 resale price is $650-750 ...

Re: 22.250 Varmint Rifle? Which one?
Cant go wrong with the price of a Howa. My Tikka M85 1983 vintage is a standard profile barrel and will shoot just as well as a HB varmit weighing 1/2 again as much. With the huge muzzle blast you aren't going to get more than 2 quick shots anyway before you are friendless and targetless. You can't ...

Re: .17 remington
since most people have a unrealistic value on their old rifles its going to be easier to buy a .17 fireball in a base remington model for $925 new with rings. we know the older handfitted Finnish actions are better but if I hand a new $900 rifle to a gunsmith and I spend $400 on it - i have a new ri...

Re: .17 remington
problem is the high costs of these cheap CZ rifles. Something that should be $500 new is $850 here.trevort wrote:works very well in a CZ527 222 donor
I did notice the $1500 527 in UG in 300whisper.
Both my cheap sako <$800 rifles fell through so i am looking hard at affordable actions.

Re: .17 remington
found 2 sako's in .222 - just need to negotiate a price. Wondering whether i should just get pac-nor barrel ( group buy ) and a .17 fireball reamer. I have a shot out .223 old remington available - but i prefer the sako L461 action. Alternative of course is to rebarrel the savage. ( it needs a new t...

Re: Spotlight Connections
I was thinking the same thing. After 20+ years they focused on other things - lol pun intended. HID has been around for 5+ years and the nicest upgrade they have done is add the LED walk lights for some of their range. Their market share is limited due to cheap imports but people want to see new mo...

.17 remington
.17 remington question
Any here use this calibre ? Seems to be plenty of crusty old old BDL's for sale but all i have seen have had poor throats.
Does anyone here run a new .17 remington or .17 remington fireball that can compare it to the old .223 ?
Cheers
