Re: A re-think on Rimfire shooting.

Native, When an international match is on at home everyone wants to be on the team and it’s always hard to make that team. But as for the teams that went to the world championships in Italy and the US, every shooter who shot 2 qualifying matches and who wanted to go went to those world championships...

Re: It's finally together= G&E Racer.22lr.

Native, I think the biggest problem for most of us when it comes to tuning is how to get from A to B when we are not 100% sure where B is, sometimes we go past it and don’t even realise. The only repeatable method I have is to do the final tune in the wind, but I do check it again on calmer days and...

Re: It's finally together= G&E Racer.22lr.

Native, I do all my fine tuning in the wind :auto: In the past I've tried indoors at St Marys or in the tunnel at Cecil Park but when I go out and play in the wind its not right, so these days I do the fine tune in the wind. It’s not completely wacky, when I read Tony Boyer's book I see he also dose...

Re: Rimfire Super shoot 2012

Chris, The problem is they are not telling us anything other than what is on the webpage, all the info we have has come from overseas and I've already posted that on Benchrest Bulletin. The Oz team will be sorted after the nationals and final noms for overseas shooters close on Feb 20th and so maybe...

Brett,
You are right, long weekend is 9 -11th I'd put the wrong dates in my training program.

Re: Rimfire Super shoot 2012

Brett Sounds like a good match but its the week after world championships in Brisbane and the same weekend as the NSW IRB. After the WC I think a few of us might stay at home the long weekend. Peter Hi Peter, Yes busy time of the year, I think there is 1 weekend free in between but I might still ha...

Re: Rimfire Super shoot 2012

Native, The NSW IRB date has been set for Silverdale on the June long weekend again next year, but because almost all who would go to that match would shoot at the world championships there was talk the state IRB might be held a little later. I think when they http://wbsfrc.com.au / get around to an...

Re: 6x recommendations for Light rimfire.??

Native,
If you are looking for something for the RBA sporter and 2015 WC look at the 5 - 32 March that class is 8 1/2lbs so weight is not a problem and you could use the same gun for 10 1/2 class. But for SSAA type sporter matches I would not notice if a scope had 1/8 or 1/4 clicks.

Re: 6x recommendations for Light rimfire.??

Native, I’ve had the T6 Weaver and I’m using the Leopold 6 power competition series at the moment, but when I change barrels next time on my sporter I’ll be leaving enough weight to use a 2.5 – 25 March. Regardless of what anyone likes after you shoot them for a while it really comes down to what yo...

Re: Tales from a borescope.!!

Native, There has been a bit of talk about this on forums in the past and basically all rimfires show pitting on the bottom. The fouling left after each shot settles at 6 o’clock and then there are 2 lines of thought, 1/ there is a chemical reaction and that causes the pitting 2/ the fouling is grou...

Re: The difference in Distance.

I think if you only have one barrel you come away thinking it’s the ammo and the first time I ever shot a group match was the 2006 (I think it was 2006) nationals at Silverdale and I won the 50m easy and got lost at 100 and blamed the ammo. But these days with a few match barrels to play with and so...

Re: Trigger ID

Shaun
I'd need to look it up, but I think Remington did make triggers like that for thier BR guns and then because of cost had Hart make a similar trigger and Hart still makes that trigger.

Re: NSW IRB, Silverdale

Brett, 3rd place wasn't no factory Brno. Consistency is the key to this game, not having a custom action or screwed action...if it were then you and your custom action rimfire mates wouldn't have got your arses kick in Brisbane in IRB by an Anschutz...young Mitch is the best Rimfire shooter in this...
