Re: What are you all building?

My brother and I are planning our own pumpkin chucker. 416 Taylor. I lucked onto a set of Redding dies, a heap of Woodleigh pills and 100+ 458WM cases that was too good an opportunity to pass up. Will be on a Zastava action in a Richards Microfit walnut stock.

Re: Factory ammo - split case

Based on the tarnish on the brass alone its Remington. Ditch the split one, my opinion is the same as everyone else's. I'm incapable of original thought.

Re: Bino rangefinder combo

Mate I think the same old rule applies to spend as much as you are prepared to for quality. If I had my choice I would get a set of Zeiss Victory RF 10x45s, having said that I haven't had a look through a set of range finding Swaros yet.

If you can get your hands on it try BM8208. I'm getting better velocity and accuracy than 10x in my 20 Tac and it is cleaner burning also.

Re: Ordering a stock from the USA

You shouldn't need any permits or anything to get it in. The old boy and I have imported about 4 Boyds and a Richards Microfit between us and I think my 1st one was opened by customs as it came through and that is all. I think if it was a tactical camo print there might be a problem at the USA end b...

Why not a 20 Dasher? That should get those little pills moving quick enough for you pair.

Re: Starting load for the 17Hornady Hornet

You've probably already done some playing around with your 17 HH by now but I'll give you a little bit of info from my 17 Ackley. With 2207 I've loaded up to 12.4gn with 20gn Berger pills (3 shots into .3"). I'm not too sure how you would go fitting that much into the Hornady case as I'm quite ...

Re: boyds stocks

From memory I think mine took nearly 3 weeks to arrive at customs and looking at the tracking info was released the same day. When it arrived there was a note inside the package saying it had been opened and inspected by aus customs. I guess when they opened they realised it was a harmless lump of l...

What chokes would you recommend for bunny busting?
How hard do you want to bust them?
In reality you don't need anything tighter than Modified (1/2) choke with modern shot shells.

Re: Howa 'barreled action' for Boyd's stock ?

I did the exact thing with a heavey barrel Howa in .223. Only advice is to do some work on the trigger or have somebody work on it for you. Mine is at the 'smith's getting a 20 cal pac nor put in it for a 20 tac, but having said that I shot some sub inch groups at 200yds with the factory barrel and ...
