Re: when you feel like you made a mistake
Doh! As much as I love my custom cz with a skinny 23' barrel in 223, I feel like I should of done a 20' fatter 20-222 instead! Yeah i just wanted an easy one, knowing me in a few months itll have a new barrel Like everyone's saying, just get stuck in with the 223 for now. Then go on the lookout for...

Re: Hmmmmm
Oh no a Commodore, I' mean a Tikka, cool. Yeah I know, I know, they're boring to look at. But they just work, and keep on working (just like a dull bog standard Commodore) Seems to be very front heavy and not that well balanced Looks like it's the Varmint model with the heavier barrel. The p...

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
Some nice groups there. My old mod lives the old blue box winnie subs. Have a box of the new ones to try. It also shoots the stingers quite well for what they are. Not going to win a match but should drop a cat or rabbit etc at 100. Thanks stinkitup, I agree, stingers in the CZ are not bad for mixe...

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
Interesting, bet both rifles would hold groups half that size with ammo that they liked. A week or so ago I got to the gunshop and picked up some more ammo to try. Could only choose from what they had in stock on the day. 22lr-a.jpg 22lr-c.jpg Well looks like I can rule out the Velocitors. The CCI S...

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
are you able to get down pretty low with the annie? ie would you think there would be problems with the bolt clearance? No problems with bolt clearance on the Anschutz boltHandles.jpg The scope diameter on the Anschutz is 57 mm (scope cover and AO scope) and the clearance is 4.5 mm. Plenty of room ...

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
is the 1416 stock not very high in cheek weld mate? as you know, I am looking at buying a lefty 22, but don't want something with low cheek weld I've measured both rifles, from the bottom of the dovetail groove to the top of the comb (where it's closest to the scope). CZ452 26 mm Anschutz 1416 28 t...

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
My left hand 1416 loves Eley Subsonic hollow points. My CZ loves the 555s, that's what I use at work. Another one to look out for is some WW super speeds, my old brno shot them better than any of the top brands, power points and CZ go together well, I would probably use the 40gn HV PPs if they were...

Jacko, the comb on the lefty 1416 is made to suit the open sights, so it's lower than the CZ.Jacko9 wrote:is the 1416 stock not very high in cheek weld mate? as you know, I am looking at buying a lefty 22, but don't want something with low cheek weld
I'll do some measurements for you and post them.

Re: Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
Interesting, bet both rifles would hold groups half that size with ammo that they liked. Do you have any suggestions Chris? I'd like to try some better ammo in them both. The holy grail would be finding two types of ammo with similar point of impact. Cheap stuff to practice natural point of aim etc,...

Left hand 22s, Anschutz 1416 vs CZ452
Here's one for the left handers. A quick comparison of a couple of 22 rimfire rifles. The targets where at 50 paces across the paddock. I shot from the driver's side window off a big iron rest. Not real scientific, but close enough for some discussion. The shots where aimed at the white crosses on t...
